It sounds like Bristol Sport are turning into Bristol Property Development, is the new stadium really just an excuse to try and push through planning for hotels, offices and 750 houses? Just a pity our owners haven't got the same vision as I know which part of Bristol I'd sooner attend for a conference/stay overnight in a hotel.

Got to love this forum. So in answer to a 4000 seat arena, couple of hotels, loads of houses and a conference centre being built for over 3 times the amount of UWE, some think quid a kid is the answer!!!

I realise our ground is a shithole before anyone gets on the defence, but have they spent any money bringing up that stand behind the goal which (last time I had any interest) looks sh**? If you mean the Ateyo Stand, I was told today that Steve Lansdown has been acquiring the homes behind it so that they can redevelop that end of the stadium. It doesn’t seem that long ago when we stood on it when it was their open end.

The facts are in football terms they are a nothing club that have no history of any real note, and have done nothing in the football world, yet to our disgrace we have done even less!!!
The gap they speak of has been because of our failures over the past 18 years rather than there growth. Its only been the past 2 years or so that they have been able to put the bricks and mortar in place to really class there as being a gap and there crowds have now followed suit.
But its still only one level, and they have only just started tapping into the untapped potenial that both Bristol clubs have.Fair play to them for that. But there is a need for us to get a new stadium ASAP as its clear that they are a premiership club in the waiting now.
Its not about what BCFC1982ltd do, its about what Bristol Rovers FC do and we have done f**k all...

Much as we all try and find fault you can't deny they are in another league on and off the pitch. Ashton Gate is like a 24 hour operation there's always people milling around its like a venue. There is no doubt they are practically premiership ready. Like every gashead I resent their success, but strangely we have also had success when they have success. When they got to the old 1st division we got into the championship. When they went into the championship Trollope took us into league one and lots of other examples over the years. I think it will always be like that and somehow however big they become we will find a way to be right there with them or close behind. Things in football can change in an instant and while it might look bleak now, who knows what's round the corner. Keep the faith UTG.

Thought it would take a bit more than just 3 full size pitches on a new training ground to become a Premiership side??
