Taylor, Bodin et al are good footballers with potential that the coaching staff developed. There was something to work with. If our parsimonious owners won't invest in decent replacements what are the coaches supposed to do? You can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear I'm afraid. Really??? Taylor wasn't wanted by FGRs and Bodin wasn't wanted by Northampton. Nichols was the top goalscorer at a league 1 club and cost over £300,000. He hasn't worked out, as he is lacking in confidence. They choose him though, so you can't blame the board for everything. Loads of players are turned into good signings, who cost £300,000. With regards to Nichlls, he isn't in Taylor's league I'm afraid. Everything about Taylor's game is superior; body strength, movement, positioning, bringing others into play etc etc. As soon as I saw Taylor's first game against Grimsbury(sic) and this isn't hindsight, I knew we had a good player. Nicholls has never made me feel that way, and he's played over a season and scored what, 2 goals? That McAnthony did us a treat there, we should never get a player from Pboro again. Everyone we've signed from them has been crap; off the top of my head that's Stirling, James and now hair gel.

Be has gone backwards, not forwards. The point is though, we paid over £300,000 for him. So the board backed the manager. He should be able to find a player, he can develop into a good league 1 player, when spending that amount. I know it was Marcus who recommended him, as he worked with him at Exeter. I know not every signing will work out, but you can't say the reason we don't have a striker is that have not been backed. He cost more than most, if not all strikers we have had previously. I think we have had some good ones in the past 😉

I am at a loss to understand Widdrington's input here. We lost Gaffney back in June/July and we still had a few weeks after Harrison left. Of course, we don't know how quickly or not DC and Widdrington are being told about transfer kitty and budgets.

Talking of attacking a coach, what happened on Muller Rd, after the match?
Blue lights and a windowless minibus only tell half a story!
Ps..... atrocious English in title btw..
