Most seem to be giving ggmi a bit of stick here, maybe due maybe not, do any of you ever think a coloured person has cried racism when nothing ever happened ? or do you think EVERY case is true ? if the later, maybe we should just shut up about it and see where it goes with the all the facts, I was accused of 'just guessing' yesterday, what is everyone else doing ? Yeah, sadly it happens and 'the race card' is sometimes over played.

When most of us want to throw a fast insult at anyone we go for an obvious point.......big nose, fat arse, ginger hair, tall, short fat skinny, I guess sometimes without thinking it will be colour of skin, most of us live with, work with or spend nights out with people of all shapes sizes and colours, I will guess again, we sometimes fall out with these people and throw a fast insult, thank goodness these people are friends and all is forgiven in the morning. Its a bit radical but......if we thought these things but never said them in my opinion is worse than just shouting them out, when we shout them out we are saying, we are all the same and i will insult you just as much as anyone else i know! I don't expect many people to agree with this but it works for me and everyone I know.

Why am I a bullyboy? How can I be correct about an opinion? I have not said my opinion is right or wrong it is just my opinion. How would you feel if you were an ethnic minority at work and people were angrilly abusing you because of your skin colour ? How can you compare the two situations? It is a bit sdifferent a rival team's fan shouting something out compared to a colleague who sits next to you in the office at work.

I can't think of a single person I know that would be ok with that. As a joke, sometimes depending on the relationship but never as an insult.

it is deemed racist to use the word 'coloured' so please be careful. I don't know why just know it is I'm pretty sure the word coloured is to suggest the person has been coloured in, as if they started off white and were then painted. If white people are white then black people are black. If you referred to a black person as coloured to their face they would probably think you were more ignorant than racist. It's not as bad as the " n " word in my opinion but then everyone's got an opinion some mind find it just as bad I don't know.

Socrates, I don't think it was ever about being coloured in but it seems all these things have a million different ways to look at them. You might be right !

I've kept out of this so far.
Apologies to the Keeper for the abuse he got on Tuesday. I sincerely hope the people involved are dealt with.
Having lived in Australia for 25 years now, I've seen a fair bit of racism. Not probably what you're all thinking though. The first job I had in Australia there were quite a few different nationalities. They all gave eachother sh**. Greeks, Italians, Turks, Aussies. All got stuck in on each other. No one complained they just had a go and got on with it. Just workplace banter. To be honest it wasn't nasty. It was just like if you worked with Rovers, City and Swindon fans.
Until one day the Turkish guy for some reason picked on me. This carried on for a while. I asked him why, he shrugged. So I started calling him Johnny.
I got hauled before HR. It seemed it was OK for everyone else to have a go at eachother, but he didn't like being called Johnny. The Greeks were saying far worse things to him. Apparently that was OK. I protested that he called me Pommy Bastard. This was OK according to HR, but I wasn't allowed to call him Johnny FFS. I told HR what the Greeks said to him, and what the Aussies did to him. He hadn't complained about that. In the end he left. My manager refused to give him a reference because of the way he complained about me.
Is the race card overplayed. Probably sometimes, although not in the case of the goalkeeper it appears.
this is my opinion.

It's all to do with the climate isn't it. I grow chillies and when it's really hot and sunny they go black to deal with the heat and stop them from burning. Black people are black for the same reason and I've never understood why another person would abuse someone because of the colour of their skin.

It's all about context Newmarket. That and the relationship I have with the person.
For something to be a joke, an insult in particular the other person has to be in on it.
For example, I would happily suggest Roverdrive shags his mum because I know he would know that it was a joke. Furthermore if he was insulted, I think he would understand me well enough to know no malice was intended and would accept my apology.
Would I say it to you? Not really because I think you may be insulted by it.
There are just some things best not said because the chances of causing offence are too high.
By the way, I should point out that RD does not shag his mum.
He does however bum his dad. True story.

As I understand it, no one has yet corroborated any of this, so at present no one is guilty of anything. If that changes the guilty parties will be banned for life, and rightly so.
I think the keeper is wrong to be using social media to keep this rolling, he should be leaving it to the authorities to deal with. As someone else has said, apparently the keeper said it was going on for quite a while. So why didn't he draw attention to it immediately? I have spoken to two people who were close to where it all happened and in both cases they only heard the banter with the keeper, and certainly didn't hear anything they considered untoward. They were both amazed when the keeper started complaining because they assumed he didn't like the mickey taking that was going on, even though he seemed to be playing along with it.
Even I can see ggmi I is not trying to defend the idiots if they do in fact exist, so why some of you dislike the idea of him expressing an opinion I just don't see. In my mind that makes you as sad as you think he is. It also amounts to trying to bully him out of an opinion which is disgraceful. If he is wrong ( in your opinion) fair enough, but he certainly has the right to express his view, or this forum will degenerate just like the other one.
As for Rovers, how can the club be responsible for someone having a 'racist' opinion. You cannot confiscate it on the way in, so cannot possibly be held responsible for an idiots thought processes. Punishment for this can only ever be retrospective, and in all justice, must be taken against the individuals and not the club, as they have done nothing to either encourage or condone it.
