So I’m slightly tanked up in a bar in a foreign country and I’m sitting here thinking where will we be in five years time.
I think things are about to turn in our favour. I think we will be playing in a higher league. In a proper stadium. I think we will still have Darrell at the helm. But I DONT think we will have the same specific ownership we have today.
For the record, I’m a chump and know nothing

You can tell you’re tanked up in a bar, proper stadium? How much have you had to drink?!

Think we'd be lucky to have Darrell in charge in 5 years unless things start happening of the pitch.
Where we are now probably. 20th in League 1 with Darrell managing a Birmingham sized club in the Championship

The takeover thread will be going strong on page 47,327. ITK'ers will be saying "I never said which October".

Still at the Mem but with huge improvements, Thatchers end, East Stand, West Stand all knocked down and replaced by state of the art tents, or even sharing Gloucestershire County Cricket ground, rumours of a takeover, a crest fallen Mourinho as DCs assistant trying rebuild his career, dreaming of a league Derby with the sh**e and i am in a bar in Bristol bloody Cider !

Still at the Mem with no improvements but possibly a change of owner and hopefully at the sharp end of L1.
Not being pessimistic, just realistic. If we had plans with permissions submitted it would be different, there are too many obstacles and stumbling blocks in our way to get a redevelopment at the Mem or even a new ground in 5 years. But currently we have nothing, and nothing on the horizon either because the ALQs won’t spend.

We will be celebrating promotion back into L1 in our first season at the UWE.
DC will go on to lead us to an historic 2nd double promotion by the end of year 5 that will see us a Championship club at last.

History tells us we will probably be in our same old, ramshackle stadium somewhere between League one and League two.
Even if a new stadium/redeveloped mem gets proposed and drawn-up, given the length of time for planning permission and the inevitable hurdles we will face along the way, plus the standard delays due to lack of funds/issues with building site etc, it will be at least 5 years before we are watching Rovers at home in anything other than a tented Banned word.
5 years passes in the blink of an eye. It certainly doesn’t feel 5 years since we were watching O’toole et al and yet so much has happened since then.

We will finally have a training ground after several years of training on the Downs. Pasties will be off the menu to be replaced by spicey hot jordanian cuisine and finally the new tv will be unveiled. We will have excelled in reaching the FA cup fourth round but unfortunately still in league 1. The Beard will still be at the top of his game and Tom Nichols will finally depart after 4 season of being the leagues top scorer for £20 million. The forum goes into meltdown as a result

Topper narrowly beats GGMI to 1 million posts.
midlandgas and tbone demand that the manager be sacked.
Following England's abysmal performance in the 2022 World Cup, the FA appoint Lord Beckham as an advisor. He says: "For decades, we have failed at major tournaments and we have looked terrible. No more. From now on I will guarantee that every player's hair looks as good following the defeat as it did at the start of the match."

While in charge of The Downs back in the 80's, I was putting up the hockey nets and marking out the hockey pitch when Dicks came over and asked me if his sh**ty side could train on the five a side football pitch I had just marked out I had to explain to the numbskull that it was a hockey pitch and could not be used for football . After 16 years of management you would of thought that the idiot would have known the difference between a hockey and football pitch!.

If the rumours of UWE are true then it will be built and we will playing there. If talks fail or it is a new build then probably still trying.
Playing wise, either Championship or L2 (see above).

Still at the Mem, South Stand was blown away in the great storm of 2021 and has been replaced by a modern looking tent with extra pegs. The Colony has been shelved after a rare nute was found nearby and the 1st team now train in the Mem car park on non car boot sale days.

15 points clear at the top of the Championship with midlandgas, lpgas and tbone as the management trio.
The rest of us just amazed that football management could be made to look so easy...
