If you dont score you don't win simple, I am starting to lose faith in D C once again he said 'dust ourselves down' and indicated no incoming signings unless people go the other way! A lot of his signings have not worked. Losing Gaffney and Harrison has cost us because despite there inadequacies at times at least they gave the defenders a rough time. Think we are simply not good enough and wonder if new eyes could galvanise this set of players more than D.C. does??

Lines 5 Looked below par today. Didn't get involved until late in the game. The missed penalty summed up his day.
O. Clarke 4 Captain today and his head was all over the place (this has happened before I seem to recall)
Sercombe 8 Easy MotM, back to his best and deserved his goal with excellent strike.
Nichols 4 Put some effort in but blew his chances
Payne 4 Played quite well for 60 minutes then wasted our valuable time trying to annoy there keeper and others. Didn't contribute toward the end, looks unfit and should have been subbed off.
Subs: Matthews nole but did nothing
Jakubiak nole also nothing
Rodman 7 tried to make an impact with useful runs

Scunthorpe 3 A poor side especially in defence but still looked like men against boys.
DC 3 Did he get much right today? He's built a squad with too many players in his own image, i.e Small, lightweight but hardworking. Good to have a few like that but the team lacks balance. I've always liked him but getting to feel he's part of the problem rather than the solution.

Bonham 5 Worst game so far, Their keeper kept them in the game, Bonham didn't
Leadbitter 5.5 Few decent crosses.
Craig 6.5 Reliable enough
J Clarke 6 A trier but lack of pace compared to Locks makes it a hard position for him
Martin 6.5 steady game with flashes of class
Lines 5 Penalty wasn't good enough to beat Scunthorpes MoM
Sercombe 8 Great goal always looked dangerous
O Clarke 5 Back to drifting in and out of the game
Bennett 4 Some really poor passes
Nichols 7 If this was his first game, would think we had a decent buy.
Payne 5 Best game so far
Matthews 4 He came on, they scored did nothing

Rodman Made an immediate impact, pity Lines couldn't put in a decent effort in from the freekick he won inches outside the penalty area.
DC 5 Without Locks seemed a decent team, he's no option but to start Nichols and Payne. Maybe should have taken Bennett off earlier.
Ref 4 Wasn't too bad, apart from listening to his lino, who couldn't be bothered to buy a cap from the "Super Store" to stop him being blinded by the Sun in his eyes.

Bonham 6.5 did ok,one decent save in the first half . Leadbitter 5 wasteful, J. Clarke 6 did the ugly stuff ok but looked uncomfortable on the ball. Craig 6.5 bang average Martin 6.5 same as Craig Bennett 5.5 first half ok,faded badly after half time. Lines 5 didnt influence the game at all, looked out of sorts. O. Clarke 5 same as Lines Sercombe 7 m.o.m. typical Sercs goal, probably his best game of the season. Nichols 5.5 a good assist, he looked lively at times but,as usual should have scored but didnt, Payne 5 showed a bit of fire but had little else, to offer, he doesnt suit us, we must replace him as soon as is possible. Subs: Matthews 5 didnt influence the game at all Jakubiak 5.5 maybe if he'd come on earlier things may have been different. Rodman 5.5 same as Jakubiak Crowd 6 good numbers all things considered. Ref 5 better than last week- just. Scunthorpe 5 better than us -just. |

Leadbitter 6 no problems in defence, and no distribution.
J. Clarke 8 no one gets the better of him.
Craig 7.5 no reason not to be captain.
Martin 7 no problems brown who?
Bennett 7 decent first half, faded second.
Lines 6.5 decent interceptions.
O. Clarke 6.5 decent.
Sercombe 8.5 m o m decent and best form of recent.
Nichols 7 non scoring good performance.
Payne 6.5 non scoring average performance.
Subs: Matthews 6.5 one poor pass is all I remember.
Jakubiak nole no impact.
Rodman nole no impact but drew a free kick late on which lines chose to blaze into Thatcher's End.
Crowd 7 patient. A few discerning opinions at end.
Ref 4 surely we can get better!?
Scunthorpe 5 poor. Inspired saves from keeper and a few blocks of shot and pass but rarely threatened and hit us on counter.
DC you again left us with a non scoring strike force, and must drop Nichols in order to get a pairing that can gel and work together up front.
The failure of this result and many before is the not taking of chances that fall to many persons....a sharp point to attack will invariably bring brighter prospect, pick a starting two up front and stick to it for a couple of months. They're bound to score more than current Nichols +1..

Bonham 5.5 Not so assured today
Leadbitter 5 Promising runs again with a poor end product
J. Clarke 5 Mr. reliable but got caught for pace on occasions
Craig 5.5 Above average performance and steady
Martin 5.5 Surprisingly not that bad
Bennett 4 Flatters to deceive but offers very little.
Lines 4.5 Not one of his better games but showed little flashes of his quality but not from free kicks.
O. Clarke 4 Not one of his better games ineffective
Sercombe 6.5 Just about deserved MoM
Nichols 6 People claim he should not be in the side but to be replaced with whom, players who are not good enough and offer even less overall
Payne 5 Tried hard enough, but one who is not good enough
Subs: Matthews Nole, another not good enough
Jakubiak Nole, also not good enough
Rodman Nole,
Crowd (5) and manager let down by whoever is in control of this club, especially with DC comments after the game, relegation is a distinct possibility
Ref 4.5 Seen worse
Scunthorpe 5 Thought at H/T we would go on and win the game, however they probably deserved it come the end without having to do much, except professionally seeing the game out

Bonham 6 - average performance, not much to do
Leadbitter 6 - gave good attacking performance in the first half. Quieter in the second
J. Clarke 6.5 - coped ok. Missed good headed chance in first half
Craig 7 - in control
Martin 6.5 - thought that he had a decent game at centre back against Exeter and was ok today at left back
Bennett 6 - flattered to deceived. Missed one good chance and hit the bar when had a lot of the goal to aim at
Lines 5 - poor compared to last week
O. Clarke 6 - average performance
Sercombe 7.5 - very good in first half. Faded in the second.
Nichols 6 - ok performance but should of scored at least one which could of changed the game
Payne 6 - at least he appeared to try more and won a few flick ons in the air plus the penalty
Subs: Matthews 4 - did nothing to justify being on the pitch

Crowd 6 - gave support. If their goalkeeper had not made a worldly save from Sercombe and saved the penalty we would be saying that it was a good Rovers performance
