Does anyone think we're down whatever happens next ? keeping GC or getting a new manager ? The board apparently aren't going to provide cash for signings and we haven't got the goals in us to win many games ? A slight contradiction to the last comment -can we hope Jakubiak and Reilly might yet deliver as they hardly ever got a start under DC ? There's no evidence the board aren't going to spend money for signings just because they told DC (even if he was told?) he wouldn't be given funds that doesn't mean they won't give the new manager funds, if they just wanted to accept the cheapest option they could have just stuck with DC and let him lead us back to Div 2. If we get to January 31 with no decent signings that's the time to start for preparing for trips to Cheltenham and the like again.

I heard a interview recently on radio Bristol from either the chairman or ceo clearly saying we have spent out maximum budget and there will be no new signings unless others are released.

How on Earth have you taken that from an article which I said summarizes Holloway? Did you even read it or does your blind love for the man cloud your judgement? Holloway is a leach desperate for attention. He is a liar with no sense of loyalty (he just has it when someone pays him) Holloway said he wanted QPR to beat us (some fan) Holloway (when angling for the City job years ago) was asked about his support at Rovers, he said he supports all sport in Bristol. He was at Plymouth and said "cut me I bleed green" (some fan) He only ever attends Rovers games when he is paid by Sky, BT, BBC, ITV etc. And now look at him, he doesn't have a job so he is suddenly trying to claim his love & devotion to Bristol Rovers again. get a grip, you absolute beaut, you obviously don’t like him, negative energy. Have a day off👍🏽 But Gassy is right what he states. Whether you like Holloway or not let’s not hide from the truth.

and the point of that was? It was ten years ago, Plymouth we’re in the sh**, so he left for a healthier club. But it didn’t work out, why are you loving Plymouth? You have to remember that when employed by another club (whether it be QPR, Argyle, Blackpool, whoever), Ollie understandably wanted everyone on board. Professing he "bleeds orange/green/blue" is just part of that. If the fans think he is one of them they will identify with him and stick with him. Probably part of why it hurt Argyle fans do much when he left them. And I'm sorry, but I know for a fact that his team (i.e. who he would be supporting were he not a footballer / football manager) is Bristol Rovers. I assure you that at no stage did he ever angle for the City job. Don't get me wrong. I think his best days as a manager are probably behind him now and if he were to come back it should be on an interim basis only, but some of your comments are simply incorrect.

Robbie Fowler is tempting when you think of what he can bring... Tempting a player to the gas can’t be easy but surely him wanting you must work in our favour if he was appointed and he would have good contacts at Liverpool and other prem clubs to get loanies and cheap young rising stars He would be a great forward coach and I’m sure would improve any striker. I know he hasn’t had much experience but neither did Darrell when we took him on Plus the players would respect him and his career than most managers

Flynn now 4/5 and nobody near at the bookies! Very uninspiring if that happens imo. I’ll give him a chance but has zero excitement factor for me if so. McGhee, Francis (mk2) and Allison had excitement value. Not always the best indicator of a good appointment.

Not sure Fowler would want to be assistant and has Danny Murphy even suggested he wants manage a team? At least Robbie has come out and said he wants the challenge

He might be a brilliant appointment, but there's nothing to suggest that. Bringing young Premiership club players isn't what we need (been there with Colkett and Clarke-Salter and neither were ready). Being a quality striker (which he was) doesn't mean he can translate that to others..coachinh is a different skill. He also has no experience of the lower leagues or of a relegatiok battle. If we were mid table and safe then it would be an interesting appointment. But not at the moment IMO.

Ian Holloway 2010: “ I had a year out of football and had to think about what went wrong in my life. I was given some decent values from my mum and dad in our council house, and one of them was honesty and trust and loyalty. And I forgot to do all that at Plymouth. I left them, and I made the biggest mistake of my life." He was man enough to admit he did the wrong thing, and this was just after he'd got Blackpool into the PL, when nobody even cared about his past.

Did DC say cut me I bleed blue? No. Because it’s bollocks mate. Ou can say I love this club, I’m down with that - I have no issues with a manager saying that they even became a supporter of that team. But cut me a bleed green? That’s denouncing Bristol Rovers. There was a point in certain he was angling for that job. They were without a manager, he was without a club and suddenly he was in the box at Ashton Gate and told the TV that he supports all Bristol sport. If that isn’t angling then I have no idea what angling is tbh. I’m not saying he isn’t a Rovers fan, he just doesn’t love the club like some people claim he does. Unfortunately people are blinded by the ‘legend’ status

I don’t think Ollie will ever become our manager again but what is not in dispute surely is that the guy is a BRFC legend. He’s played for us in 3 spells and was part of a promotion team and managed a team that played some of the best football ive seen played in my 50+ years of support. Lots on here have taken against something he has said as I have sometimes. But that’s Ollie isn’t it? The guy likes the limelight, he grandstands, he shows off, says things for effect, he wants people talking about his club/ him. He loves to make us laugh. What he says in London will be different to things he says in Bristol or Blackpool. The guy is a showman and we all know that. It’s part of his charm and why half on here wouldn’t mind him back. But of the managers who are on the managerial merry go round he’d be one of the few I would want because the bottom line is he’s Rovers through and through despite what he’s sometimes said. I opted for Flynn, Appleton and Hargreaves from the list but if Ollie came back, which I don’t think he will, I’d be happy for what he will bring to the club, passion, will give youth a chance and will give a good quality of football. But it won’t happen. UTG!
