Lump on Flynn at 12s. Agent has already been approached by the board, he's expressed he would be interested in speaking to us.
Remarkably long odds those.

Ive just put some money on Flynn hes down to 2/1 now. Bit of a coincidence i was told just before DC left word for word “Dins im sat having a drink with the next manager of BRFC” before you get too excited i once put £200 on Paul Hart to be our boss after a tip off from a director. That didnt end well

1) Mark Warburton would be my prefered choice. Great success in L1 with Brentford so experience at this level and did pretty well in the Championship leaving with the clubs best ever managerial win percentage of 51.3%. He's gone on to have success in Scotland achieving promotion back to the SPL with Rangers and left there with a win percentage of 65.9%. His last job was at Forest. His spell there wasn't as successful leaving with the club 14th in the Championship on 31st December 2017. However, he still had an impressive 40.6% win percentage during his time in Nottingham. Ticks a lot of boxes. Not sure what his demands might be or if he's a realistic target. He has been out of work for nearly a year though so could be ready for a new challenge.
2) Paul Hurst would probably be my next choice. Superb record at Ilkeston 62.1%, Boston 60%, Grimsby 49.5% and Shrewsbury 48.5% before it all went wrong at Ipswich. Proven at this level and kept Shrewsbury up in similar circumstances to ours 2 years ago.
3) Michael Flynn would be a bit of a gamble as he's only managed one club but he's done pretty well at Newport with limited resources and achieved a win percentage of 43.3% so worth considering.
4) Michael Appleton might be an option but his only real success as a manager came at Oxford after fairly disappointing stints at Portsmouth, Blackpool and Blackburn. Not sure he'd be in my top 3 but I wouldn't be too upset if it was him.
5) Darren Ferguson's name has been mentioned. Decent enough record but Doncaster seem to be doing a lot better without him this season.
6) Cotterill has only had any real success at Cheltenham and City. Excluding a very short sting at Notts County his average win percentage at the other 5 clubs he's managed is only 26.6%. That said, his success at Cheltenham and City can't be ignored so his overall average is a more respectable 40%. Not sure he's the right character for us though and I don't think he'd unite the fans so he wouldn't be one of my prefered options.
7) Holloway will of course be mentioned but he hasn't had a win percentage in the 40's at any of the 8 clubs he's managed. That said, he has had some success, knows the club very well and would be a popular choice with a lot of fans. However, I'm not sure he's the man to call in a crisis. Good when things are going well but not so good a turning round the a team struggling at the bottom.

Saw Flynn close up at a couple of Development/Reserve games. Foul-mouthed and 'get stuck in' type of manager. Although he's got Newport doing quite well this season his selections and substitutions often bemuse the fans. For me he's too inexperienced. We're in a parlous state and need a manager with enough experience and contacts to turn things around on the pitch asap.

I’m expecting Cotterill or an ex Chelsea player like hasselbank.

Cannot believe I am writing this but I would go for Ian Holloway...I think his presence would give the whole club a massive lift and the contacts he has made since he left would be hugely beneficial.

None of those names inspire me or excite me. I get the feeling that we will see two or three managers in quick succession now. That’s usually the case after a long-term manager is sacked. Gutted he’s gone.

Hes favourite now whoever bet at 12/1 is laughing That’s the thing about gambling isn’t it. Every time someone puts a bet on their laughing because they’ve got great odds or they’re on to a dead cert. The bookies laugh the loudest though. I remember loads on here laughing cos they had inside knowledge that warnock was about to become a shithead.

Please no- anyone except that professional Bristolian twat. He'd make us more of a laughing stock than we already are with his brain dead bollocks-talk.
