For those of you who take the attitude of "I'll see Rovers play anyone", I hope you enjoy watching fifth tier football in a few years because there'll be at least 20+ B teams injected right above us once the Checkatwits allow the FA to have their way.
The day B teams enter the league is the day I give up with the whole thing.

I doubt a few Gasheads missing from a Wembley final will change the outcome, what would is a disaster of a final if an U21 ever side gets there but Gasheads have no control over whether that ever happens.

Only so you can hang around outside the lifts. That presupposes said individual will be there. I forgot to mention that I do shop in Sainsbury's occasionally. Add that to my charge sheet.

Everyone absolutely has the right to go to Wembley/ any Trophy games and I've no right to tell you not to however...
If I'm not wrong I have "Wouldn't want to disappoint the kids" and "We're destined to be Premier League puppets anyway so let's bend over" as the two main arguments for going?

I'll be going to any home matches and any away ones I can get to, Wembley if it happens will involve flying home early from a holiday but I'll probably do it. Fair play to those sticking to a principle but I simply don't believe this trophy in any of it's many guises over the years has any influence for or against the future of league football.

Funny you should say that Reading, cos in a way our season in the 5th tier was a very enjoyable one , not least meeting so many fans of teams we never played before and witnessing their dedication and love of their club whatever there situation, there willingness to follow there club every where the football gods sent them was a joy to behold, technically may not be so good but i for one embraced the experience and when we left them behind we did so with new found respect for those clubs and there followers , reminded me of our Twerton days and the faithful 4000 or so , seems to me the higher up the pyramid you go the more the attitude of fans change , not for the better! Liverpool lose one game and all the scousers go into deep depression and so on with the rest of the elite and there 'fans'. I for one never thought i would watch Rovers at Wembly, so Tranmere, Huddersfield, Shrewsbury, and Donny at Cardiff are days i treasure, but would not have done without the 'mickey mouse 'cup and the once much maligned play offs, so miss Rovers in any Wembley final? not a chance!!!(oops not forgetting Grimsby in the 5th tier play off! up the Rovers, but each to there own!

Looks like Man city the only under 23 team in the next round Peterborough one down at halftime to Chelsea have scored three in nine minutes and lead 3-1 with ten minutes or so to go.

I may change my mind if time comes but I really can't be arsed right now. The lure of Wembley has faded, partly with age, partly as I've been there 3 times with Rovers (playoffs x3, so all games that REALLY mattered) in my time as a fan and last two visits were so good this could only really disappoint. And I'd like to do my bit to discourage the EFL from supporting the inclusion of U21 prem teams

I enjoyed the conference too for much the same reasons, but mostly because we hardly lost, it would have soon become a chore going to those places if we were a mid table team or worse and losing. I was also at Twerton first game to last and i have no qualms about missing , if we got there, the final of a competition that imo threatens the future of the club i love and all lower league clubs, including those from the conference trying to get in the league.

Both Newcastle and Chelsea U21 seemed to fall apart in the second half of their games. Fitness issue? - surely not with youngsters, perhaps it's that they can't keep up the intensity from a mental viewpoint? It all just shows how these kids would be better left at their previous club to gain experience, or be loaned out to achieve the same.

We were in the fifth tier because we deserved to be, beaten by other proper clubs.
If we end up in the fifth tier again because a load of fake club U21 side are put in the league above us - does that thought not bother you?

That's the kind of defeatist attitude they bank on. Its not defeatist, its called them not giving a crap what we think. They will do what they want. So you can still support your club at the ground or at home. I think they have to give some sort of a crap. After all they justified continuing it in its current format by saying the 2017 final was attended by 70,000+ fans. If the fans of Coventry and Oxford had decided to boycott that day, the competition may not still be running in its current format now. A major drop in attendances can’t be completely ignored no matter how stubborn they are. If all the games were attended by 0 people then it would come to an immediate stop. Now that’s obviously never going to happen, but the lower attendances there are, the more of a sham it makes the competition look. And if it was so low that it got to a point of being just ridiculous, they’d have to discontinue it simply to save the embarrassment. As I’ve said before, each to their own. But unfortunately those few that still do decide to go are the reason that our first team are still competing against the PL’s kids.

With only 1 x U21 team left out of 8, the odds are obviously now very much against (thank god) an U21 team in the final.
Fact - only 3 have ever got to the last 8.
We're having a pretty poor season. And this is only a forum - a place where people often have strong opinions and aren't afraid to air / debate them. Unlike the general population.
Reality check - if we got to the final, again a normal team, and the tkts were reasonably priced we'd take 30k plus. Talk of 10/15k is a joke.

Not believe what though? I'm sure all the Blackpool fans not attending games for the last year or so like watching them play as much as you like watching Rovers. It's just not a reason. If you want to say I don't care about b teams that's fine. I'm just looking for good reasons.
