Kelly and Sercombe leaving that would be another very poor window for us. I'm getting my tissues ready for the tears. Are you sure that's what you're getting them ready for? Happy tears?

A mate of mine who is a Villa fan would be absolutely gutted if this young lad left. Says he's a cracking little player and that he should have played a lot more.

Why this Sercombe leaving rumour has come up recently is beyond me. Yes he is one of our best players but like several others has been decidedly average this season. Like loads of other stuff on here, just another unfounded rumour as far as I am concerned. If someone mentions it enough on here it becomes fact. He’s out of contract in the summer. Hopefully he will sign another one, but if not a last chance to get some cash.

Doesn’t mean anyone is going to come in for him this January or that we won’t hold on to him in the summer. Gaschat fake news 101: Part a) repeat it enough it becomes fact Part b) when part a doesn’t work distract people by chucking out facts loosely relevant to the information in part a.

I can see your point, but I would say if people were on here saying he is liinked to a certain club, or they have heard a rumour he is leaving fair enough, but I think it is just people expressing a concern he might leave due to the contract situation. I haven’t see anyone state that as a fact, just a worry.

Bristol Rovers set to miss out as highly-rated Aston Villa midfielder nears transfer The talented attacking midfielder had been linked with a loan move from Aston Villa to the Gas earlier this month, with reports claiming a number of League One and League Two sides were keen on his signature. However, Football Insider state the 20-year-old is set to move on loan to Carlisle United for the remainder of the campaign. It would be the latest blow for the Gas in the January transfer window, with manager Graham Coughlan having recently confirmed that they have missed out on a number of targets. www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/bristol-rovers-set-miss-out-2474943

Even judge Rinder wouldn’t sign for us and he likes sitting on the bench.

I think the point is, we've gained a reputation for not handling loans well in the eyes of loaning clubs. These reputations do stick for a while even though DC has left

These reputations do stick for a while even though DC has left It's a new regime on the playing side now and it's up to them to convince the parent club that the player will be well looked after and get the required amount of playing time.

I thought the previous managers approach to loans was correct. When they did well like sweeney, lumley and bonham he played them. When they couldnt be bothered to run about or chase back like colkett and boateng he left them out. When they were ok but not great like clarke-salter and bola they played sometimes.
When we were storming to promotion he brought them in as cover in case of injury. Do people want us to suck up to bigger clubs by always playing loan signings no matter what?

Loan players should not have a divine right to play every game just because their parent club wants them to. For example, with Mo Baghdadi and Deon Moore who didn't get much game time in their most recent loans, that just reflects badly on the players in my eyes, rather than the loaning club. If they're not good enough to get in a Conference South team, they better improve damn quick. It should be no different for young players coming to us from PL/Champ clubs.

What about Connor Roberts Ollie mcburnie etc didn’t hardly play them.
