Saw this lad play against us in a Youth game v Bournemouth at the Mem a few years ago. I was very impressed at the time and he was by far the best player on the pitch. He seems to have done well at a number of clubs since. I fear he will go to a better club than us; but if he came here I'd be well chuffed!

I suppose if you’re Bournemouth looking to loan him out, you don’t want to send him to a team that are settled and doing well so he can warm the bench. Makes more sense to send him to a team that will throw the dice and gamble on him, such as us.

I've heard a lot of clubs are reluctant to loan players to struggling clubs. They 'may' get more game time but the pressure of being in a relegation battle could be too much for the pampered pups. Many would actually prefer to loan players to clubs doing well and ease them into 1st team squad action.

Would be delighted if true... He was offered to us in the summer but our then manager couldn’t agree game time with Bournemouth. That is what I heard around Bournemouth. Eddie H likes his loanees to play and be involved. Oldham were able to guarantee it, we wouldn’t. UTG!

Local Bournemouth Daily Echo reporting that Surridge has been asked about by Bradford and “others” but we are not mentioned by name. Eddie H seems to be saying that if teams are in same league then it would be up to player as to where he goes. Don’t know if that sounds good or not! UTG!

8 goals in 15 games in his last loan at Oldham and before that 8 in 41 at Yeovil. Like I said before, let's hope he doesn't revert to last season's form then, because 6 goals from 41 games in League Two is dire. Edit: 6 goals from open play in the league that is. So when you quote all the goal records of various strikers on here do you always make sure you subtract their penalties or free kicks?

Even with penalties, 8 was a poor return last season I'm sure you would agree?

That's probably the best we can hope for. Not sure looking at previous years form at Yeovil should put us off, look at Tom Eaves record at Yeovil, 4 in 40...

We desperately need a goalscorer, so good luck to him if he does sign.

Well anyone who has ever taken a penalty in any adult competitive match will know why they count on a players goal stats. Goal returns in a season dont always tell the whole story, other factors like how good your team are and how much defensive work you have to do come into the equation. There are also forwards that get the ball down and bring others into play. One problem apart from the goals this season is nobody in the squad seems capable of doing that job. Oliver hawkins often plays ahead of brett pitman because of that imo. the other obvious factor is were in our usual transfer window situation of signing someone in a panic before the window closes.

How many decent player's, don't hit double figures, during there first season in the football league?

I help him out by watching quite a lot of games abroad particularly in south America. I think he used to recommend players to Rovers (even though his first team is Yeovil) but gave up after never getting any responses.
I'd be happy to provide Widdrington with some very cheap overseas options but that's not my job and I doubt they would be interested anyway.
