People saying penalties don't count was a bit weird, but now hattricks dont count?! Taking the water! Whose taking the water? You seem unable to read the full content or have a twisted analysis of what is written! If a team's top scorer as a player scores 45% of his goals (by 2 hat tricks) in 2 games out of a total 30 league 1 games plus Caraboa Cup, Checkatrade Cup and FA cup. Thus the games scored ratio is not consistent or prolific 1:5? As an added point one of the 2 games he scored a hat trick against Bradford the Shrews lost!! Relax, was tongue in cheek!

Is he definitely suspended as there's still no suggestion on the FA website he's serving a bad and GC managed to dodge he question yesterday? Having said that Lines alongside Ogogo at home could be a better CM pairing anyway. I would prefer it myself if ollie clarke is ok to play as he drives forward and teamed up well with ogogo last week. Lines sits too deep for my taste despite his obvious footballing ability. Put Sercombe in the middle and the beard (I play anywhere on the left)

inb4 we play Ollie Clarke when he's suspended, pick up a 3pt deduction and get relegated to league 2

Some very interesting games today.
Hopefully quite a few teams should drop points today, a win could give us a bit of a breather

All his managers in his career seem to end up playing him wide, well both rovers managers and oxfords manager anyway.

It’s annoying because i’ve always liked 4-3-3 as a formation for us, last few years it seemed to always serve us well. Sercombe fit into that system well too. Only now that we’ve had to revert back to basics and have offloaded our only actual left winger has Sercombe had to go back there. To my knowledge he played almost entirely central in his time at Exeter, and was excellent, but i’m not so clued up on them to know what formation they played. It rings a bell that he used to sit in behind the striker though. I’ve said playing him on the wing is a bit like getting a surgeon to design a house - no doubt he’s talented and could learn over time to do a job there but i’d rather hire an architect and let him do the thing he is supremely good at.

This game could be a game changer imo.
If we can put in a performance as good as the Southend game and the first half of the game against Posh then I reckon we win today and the confidence and feel good factor in the squad (and indeed amongst the fan base) continues to build and we then go into Tuesday against Portsmouth believing we can get something there.
After that we have Sunderland at home, if we at least avoid defeat in that game then it sets up a very interesting semi final in the crapatrade trophy with them. GC said in his interview with 20man that he wanted to beat them after narrowly losing his first have in charge against them so he will want to exact his revenge on that match imo to knock them out of the cup and from what I have seen of GC so far he hates losing so will be going out all guns blazing to secure the win and get us to Wembley.
Although a significant number of fans do not support the competition, getting to the final at Wembley would be a very good achievement for the club, continue building that winning mentality it would also be a real statement of intent from GC regarding cup runs which as we know in recent history we have been very poor. If he can achieve that in his first season what might he be able to do next season in the EFL or FA cup?
I'm really trying not to get my hopes up in case we get another Wycombe today but given the last 2 games I just can't help it. I'm hopeful and really looking forward to the game!!!
2-1 Gas win, Sercs and Nichols to score. Ogogo will start and Clark Harris will come on after 60mins to be a really big pain in Shrewsbury's butt denying them any points.
UTG!

An exciting player when we’ve got the ball but it’s like having ten men when we haven’t. Can’t remember ever seeing him making a crunching tackle. Lines has had plenty of flak over the years for not getting stuck in but for a playmaker he does get stuck in more these days .
