I can concur with the comments within this post, the food is terrible over cooked and service shocking. Tom Gorringe hides away in box 1, doesn’t appear to care what service is dished up but happy to take the £££ Tom Gorringe responds diligently and helpfully to any request put towards him by supporters and is genuinely a really nice guy who does his best to improve things with the little that he is given. He probably cares more about what matchday service is provided than anyone else at the club. See him for yourself if you wish to highlight your concerns in a constructive manner, I’m sure he’d be more than happy to help. Yep, so great that he was so unprofessional and rude to Keith Brookman that an employee of 20+ years resigned. So great that he held the annual Rovers players dinner away from the Mem and will do again. Great support of our club and our commercial facilities. New catering manager already causing waves, not just with food but also prices and staff. Several gone. Others expected to be gone soon.

Probably one of the best events this club has organised in a long while, why does it have to be held in the mem? The new catering manager has nothing to do with prices and it's unfair to hold TG accountable for the actions of someone else, especially if they happen to be new to the job. And as for first comment, that is unsubstantiated gossip, unless you can provide concrete evidence?

Hope u complained at the time .. too. Many people are too nice when it comes to complaining about below standard food .utg No, seemed a little awkward, what with being sat with family and seeing lots of others enjoying themselves in the room.

Happy birthday baggins....
Sorry to hear about your carvery, I've had a couple up there (not recently) and they were good, although it's a bit wasted on me as I don't usually eat main meals in the afternoon let alone 3 courses....
That aside, It would seem that the mainstream of the British public seem content with these new carvery set-ups, like Toby, Stonehouse, redwood (cribbs) that price a roast dinner depending on the size of your plate. Like a lot of things, the traditional roast dinner has largely become an example of quantity above quality and is fast becoming a lost art. No wonder Europeans think British food is crap when it's the British themselves that can't even cook it....
To quote William Somerset Maugham : “To eat well in England you should have breakfast three times a day.”

For the life of me I can’t understand 1. Why we can’t get it right every time 2. Why anyone in the world eats at a football ground (I’m not counting Hospitality which is usually ok) - I know it’s a very general comment but I can’t recall seeing anything decent since Kidderminster away in the Conference.

What do you think the message is when the club won't even hold its own big event of the year at its own facilities, and won't make profit for itself? Of course the catering manager has influence on prices, choice of food and other issues, especially staffing issues. And It's all part of the commercial side. I imagine news of more resignations will be coming soon, unless the truth is buried, like Brookman, Brookfield and others have been. TG happily takes commission on the sponsorship he organises, which include two betting companies.

My direct experience of Tom Gorringe has been good. He has listened to complaints from friends and myself and tried to sort them. When he found that the ticket system wasn’t going to be able to do some of the things we had asked about and suggested he took the trouble to get in touch and let us know. He apologised that the catering wasn’t being linked (for a free pasty and pint like previous years) saying the caterers didn’t want to be party to the system. However, I’m beginning to lose heart as so many things aren’t happening or are happening very late - not as serious as Spurs stadium maybe but far more important for us Gasheads. I haven’t “brought a friend” this year because it’s too difficult to follow and living in Bath getting to the game is struggle enough without trying to get over to ask about/collect tickets. I tried asking over the phone near the start of the season and was told I had to be present at the ground? Is that still required? Surely they can check against my season ticket? Pity people abused the voucher system. I keep hearing about the big screen needing a subframe and nobody sorting anything out so the scoreboard isn’t fixed either. Somebody needs to get a grip should that be Tom Gorringe or is it Martyn Starnes? Nobody is standing up to be counted lately apart from GC and some of the players (sadly not all in my opinion).

Hate to say it, but it was awful. Was really looking forward to it. Wish I'd had the soup to start as the 3 pieces of lettuce, 1 with a small bit of cheese in it, 1 with 2 small anchovies in it and 1 with something else in it, was pathetic. As for the main, choice was pork or beef. Chose pork. It was literally all fat. My Father had beef and it was as tough as old boots. Pudding was cake.
The only interesting point was a table there had curry. Huge pot of curry, pilau rice and chips. Not sure how they managed to get that but I wish they'd offered that to me as an option rather than the stuff I got.
Shame as this is the first bad experience in a long long time in hospitality. Hoping this was just a one off.
I was in hospitality Saturday and had a Really nice time. I have to say its basically a carvey lunch with a cash bar so nowhere near the standard of hospitality i have been lucky to have experienced elsewhere. The MC is poor and there should in my opinion be ex player / club ambassador at each game to make it a bit better. Ive been a dozen or more times and whilst i always really enjoy it i could do better myself with just my wifes home cooking, a few student waiters and my deceased Grandads book of dirty jokes. I suggested to Tom to go and see how they do it at Everton. They have a comedian MC and ex players hosting with a Q&A and interview. I’ve had hospitality at Godalming Town once and they had better food and drinks included. That aside its very old school Rovers and its nice to have a bit of that. Will continue to go and always send polite suggestions of how it can improve.

Woul hardly be suprising for someone to get a commission for increasing the clubs revenue
