BBC News - Prince Philip will not be prosecuted over crash www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47236607So this idiot could have killed a mother and child and the police do not act If it was me, or anyone else on this forum, I wonder what would have happened.

I genuinely think we would be treated the same, especially 90 years olds who show genuine remorse and voluntarily surrender their driving license. Examples of far bigger criminal activity not taken further by the CPS everyday. The 'victim' of this accident seems to be milking it a bit. Selling her story to any paper willing to print her story.

What crime did he commit? If I pulled out from a minor side road onto a major A road, hitting or being hit by an oncoming vehicle it would be reasonable for me to expect to be charged for A) Driving without due care and attention (as a minimum) B) Dangerous Driving. I suspect him giving up his licence was part of his "plea" bargain. If he was 17 the situation would be entirely different.

BBC just confirmed that his age and the fact his driving licence had been surrendered led to the CPS deciding not to prosecute.
Emmmm

Comments like this: "So this idiot could have killed a mother and child and the police do not act" irk me and, unfortunately, are commonplace on social media these days with ill-informed people just ithcing to have a dig at the police.
Police attended the scene, the matter was reported and investigated. It's been public knowledge since last week that the file was passed to the CPS for consideration.
But those damn police, not acting. Disgrace.

A quick google search will enable you to find loads of examples of teenagers evading justice in worse circumstances - hopefully that will lessen your concerns about age discrimination.

Your right. Fingering the police without all the information was lazy on my part. I still stand by the view though that if it had been anyone else a prosecution would have resulted.

Either way, the blokes a f**king parasite. I've met him. Top man. I think many of his generation have earnt the right to a little respect from us young 'uns. I had an accident many years ago where I pulled out from a side road, wrote off the other persons car and thankfully nobody hurt, but it was could have been worse. Didn't go any further than the insurers Never had a problem before or since.

No. A sponging parasite. Just f**k off the lot of them. Hatred to the old man who had a car accident but sympathy towards Isis supporters.

Blimey Oldie you are always in the minority. I think he`s my wife, Nobby.
He has to be; there cannot possibly be two people on this planet with such lunatic opinions.
