Same as Bath City then - yet! If Bath city don't build this I owe you both a pint. And if we build a stadium first I will buy everyone a pint !!! (I think my bank balance is safe)

All joking apart, if they put an artificial pitch down, that is the loss of a logical temporary home IF the Mem is ever properly redeveloped.

Bath RFC want to build a modern stand in the historic area of a world heritage city. Bath City are working with developers and the community to enrich the quality of life in one of the poorest Wards in B&NES - good luck to them.

The proposed 3G pitch will kill any chance of league football being played at Twerton. All joking apart, if they put an artificial pitch down, that is the loss of a logical temporary home IF the Mem is ever properly redeveloped. Like the all-seater laws which so many fans and clubs want changed, I think we're not far from reaching the tipping point where 3g pitches will be allowed in League One and Two. Certainly by the end of this development.... They talk about the student accommodation more than anything else! There must have been quite a few concerns at the begining which they have had to respond to. Like in Bristol, and like standing/3G pitches (except the tipping point is moving the other way) it's the only way to secure funding for it but the locals and the council have to be convinced it's needed and will be well-managed.....

They talk about the student accommodation more than anything else! There must have been quite a few concerns at the begining which they have had to respond to. That's because Students pretty much rule the roost with Bath City Planners. Simply mentioning "students" in an application gets you pretty much anything you like (plus a good ROI for the investors of course). However, Bath does absolutely nothing for the community, Bath is not about its residents anymore its all about the kudos of becoming the new Oxford or Cambridge. The proposal tries to say they are building this for the community but look at the numbers: 12 affordable apartments (TWELVE) 34 co-living studios (THIRTY-FOUR) 356 Student bedrooms (THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SIX) 3g pitch and some shops to replace the shops that are already there. So I'm sorry but as much as i have a soft spot for BCFC and wish them well, speaking as a Bath resident, they would have to do a lot more to convince me that this is a community project.

They have still got to get permission first and wouldn’t be any good for Rovers anyway. As good a time as it was in Twerton, especially the pubs and easy to get to from east bristol I wouldn’t want to see Rovers there again. Bristol is useless at granting any applications for the better of the community and it sucks. Even the sheeds with all Lansdowns money couldn’t get a new ground, so it seems almost impossible that Rovers will ever get one?Remember the ‘Support Rovers Move To Mangotsfield’ campaign of the 80’s? It’s an ongoing process of continual knock backs. Redeveloping grounds in this part of the country seems the only viable option.

Really if they had to the cash to buy the houses behind the popular terrace they could easily build a 6 to 8 thousand stand.
