I am struggling to understand why some supporters of BRFC continuing to protest when there is a Wembley final possibility.
Whilst there were games that involved under 23 teams I understand why some dont like it, but they are all out of the competition. If you had only boycotted the under 23 games and attended the rest then the protest would have been more targeted at the games and teams you believe have no right to be in the competition, I get your point, I really do, but I do think that handing OUR stadium over to away supporters, which will happen if Sunderland fans turn up in force, to out number the Gasheads, is totally out of order. Our manager has said that he wants the supporters to get right behind the team as they DO make a difference. That "difference" will be missing and could effect the result.
If you are happy with that then its very dissapointing especially as OUR club, who definatly need the money, will miss out on the money a Wembley final would bring in.
I wonder how many protesters will be following the game? I wonder how many supporters will miss out on a great day out if and when we suceed in geting to Wembley but will follow the game on the TV or radio. For that game you will be a follower not a supporter. Harsh I know but thats how I see it.
Rant over.
I'll get my coat

Some of us see it differently I understand that but this is a chance that it may never happen again. I have been a Gashead for 6 decades and in all that time I can count the Wembley visits to watch the Gas, on one hand. It may never happen ever again.

I'll get my coat Because the EFL are using attendances (especially in the latter rounds) as evidence that the new format is a success. Each to thier own, but I won't be supporting this competition in any capacity as long as the U23s are a part of it. It will be a difficult descision for a lot of people if we did get to Wembley. I'll hate to miss it, but I'll be sticking with my principles.

I'll get my coat I disagree with the format of that competition and love the English league , its heritage , it’s history and the thought of playing under 23 sides in league competition makes me feel sick. I won’t go to any games because if I do then that’s one more whio supported that competition and poor attendance is the best hope of the whole idea being scrapped. It might not make any difference but if it doesn’t in a few years when Rovers are playing stoke -23s in a league game and everyone is moaning that the life’s been sucked out of lower league football at least I can say I did my bit to stop it happening. Obviously you won’t be able to.

I struggle to understand why this subject has come up...yet again. We all know some people support this competition and others don’t. Along with the reasons for each side of the “argument”. We should just accept these differences and move on. Nothing is going to change the respective points of view.

It's worth going at this stage, the early games were difficult for me to get to, I can't make this due to child care but the final would be a good day out fans can decide for themselves but we deserve a good day after the below par season so far.

Worst still, imagine playing Bristol Sh*t U23s...

Not sure a few Gasheads boycotting the semi will make much difference when if Sunderland win they will pack Wembley out anyway if they get there. As far as playing the 82er's U23 side the way the respective clubs are heading at present we could well face them anyway if we draw them in the FA or Carling cup in the years to come.

The point for me is “we deserve a good day” over “ the history, heritage and future of the football league “ I’m sorry but I just can’t see how anyone can justify that. The football league is over 100 years old and will go on another 100 years or more if our planet is still capable of it. One day at Wembley in a corrupt competition over that doesn’t even register in my view. Not telling people what they should or shouldn’t do , just giving my view.

But that would still be city's first team, if they want to play their young un's or squad players in the first team that's up to them.

I won't be going to the semi-final and/or final as the competition has been devalued by allowing so-called reserve teams entering. It used to be a valid cup tournament for the lower divisions and had some credibility then but has now become something of a farce. Having said that I won't condemn anyone who wants a good day out at Wembley - but imagine if it was us against Stoke reserves - embarrissing!

If there was an u21/23 team left in the competition, I would boycott the semi and the final, but as it’s only league 1 and 2 teams left, I’ll be there giving the lads my support to hopefully get the rewards that the 3 other sides are hoping to win!!! UTG
