Bonham 8 - very confident and assured
Partington 6.5 - some dodgey defending at times and some wayward passing but did ok.
Craig 8 - very solid against some big forwards
Locker 8.2 - like craig but slightly better
Dennis - 8.6 overlapped well, great touches , crosses , defended , class

Olly 6.6 did ok typical olly game not involved enough to be great but some good breaking up
Upson 6.7 very similar to olly
Agogo 7.5 our best of the three in the screen that worked well to protect giving sercombe the licence to roam free.

Sercombe 9.5 - outstanding in his free role he was everywhere and deserved his goal so much.

Harris 10- unplayable, absolutely fantastic performance,
I thought he would be the hold up player for Nichols but he was a poacher feeding off Nichols too.

Nichols 8.9 linked so well with Harris hopefully this is the partnership to keep us up but it’s only one game we’ll see.
Such a good player in terms of technical ability and his hard work and assists this season has created a bond with most of our fans.

Blackoool 4 didn’t get a look in.
Cogs 9 I really like the bloke and the way he told them to go out enjoy themselves whilst putting the olly ogogo and upson screen there and sercombe the free role in front was good management.
Sercombe won’t ever win the ball back but if you’ve got 3 behind him covering then it doesn’t matter.

Bonham: 8. Quiet overall but two important saves at the start of the second half.

Partington: 7. Not a bad game as such, but with no wide midfielder to protect him, struggled to prevent crosses coming in to the box at times.
Lockyer: 8. Assured throughout and is looking a class centre half at the moment.
Craig: 8. Like Lockyer, didn't put a foot wrong and a superb block when he threw himself in front of a shot late in the game preserved the clean sheet.
THD: 8. He's already starting to make me think he could be the best left back I've seen at Rovers. Joner pips him for now but...

Upson: 8. As someone said in the match thread, has shown good form of late and worked very hard throughout. Possibly his best home performance today.
Clarke: 7.5. Good, solid Ollie Clarke performance and unlucky not to score the 3rd goal...what a save that was from their keeper.
Ogogo: 8. Best performance I've seen from Abu today. Battled and harried throughout.
Sercombe: 8.5. That's better! I've been critical of Sercs this season but today he showed the form of last season. That will be crucial in determining our season. Did really well for the 3rd goal and grabbed a deserved one himself.

Nichols: 9. So, so close to MoM but JCH got a hat-trick so has to win it. Tom was classy today and for me his best performance in a Rovers shirt. Is this the partnership we've been waiting for?
JCH: 9.5. MoM. I think he is the centre forward we've been crying out for. Rammell-esque in the way he bullied tbeir defence but for all his good play so far the question mark was around his ability to score goals. He answered that today.

Reilly: 6. Would surely have scored had Jakubiak found him when free in the box. That said, I'm undecided whether he has enough for this league. Worth persevering with though as there is something tbere and he can finish.
Jakubiak: 6. Not much time to make a huge impact but was a threat to a tiring defence.
Sinclair: 6. Again, not on long but a lovely ball to set Jak free.

Crowd: 3. So quiet, even when 3 or 4 up. We need to get behind the team more.
Ref: 8. Good performance.
Blackpool: 2. Gutless.
GC: So good to see us getting the ball down and playing proper football. I don't agree with those who say the players aren't good enough. I think they are IF they pass the ball rather than hoof it up to the big lad. Today showed that these players, playing passing football on a good pitch can comfortably hold their own in this league. Now we have to keep this type of performance going at home.

Bonham - 6 - sorry, just don't see the fuss. He's been well below par since mid-December and even today he was fumbling so many simple saves. Made one great one though and commanded crosses decently enough.

Partington - 6 - meh, did okay.
Lockyer - 7 - solid all game.
Craig - 7 - as above.
Holmes-Dennis - 7 - he's so silky on the ball and looks like such a positive attacking threat whenever he bursts forward.

Upson - 6 - didn't stand out but didn't have to.
O. Clarke - 8 - good performance, battled well against Spearing and Thompson and got the assist for the first.
Ogogo - 7 - a classy addition to our midfield, adding the steel we needed. Another good performance.
Sercombe - 8.5 - his best game all season, ending with a well-deserved goal from an expertly-taken finish. Who'd have thought he'd flourish in the centre?

Nichols - 8 - he has his critics but I'm not one of them. He'll never be the goalscorer we crave but his link-up play and all-round game is second to none. Should've been sent off though.
Clarke-Harris - 10 - did he lose a header all game? Three well-taken goals and brilliant mugging off of their assistant Gary Brabin to add to it!

Subs: Jakubiak - 7 - great assist for Sercs.
Reilly - 6 - too lightweight I feel but tries hard.
Sinclair - 6 - good to see him back and a few tidy passes that created openings.

Crowd - 5 - still so quiet despite a thumping performance.
Ref - 7 - one of the better ones we've seen at the Mem this season.
Blackpool - 3 - how... are they ninth? We've beat them 7-0 on aggregate this season and we've largely been awful this season. They been abysmal.

The diamond midfield was a masterstroke today. Brought the best from Sercombe, THD, JCH and Nichols, culminating in an excellent performance. Long may it continue - UTG!

Bonham 6 Some good routine saves, overall done everything he had to well.

Partington 5.5 Looked ok in most parts of the game, but shaky at times
Lockyer 7 Handled everything very well, got in a few excellent blocks
Craig 7 As Lockyer
Holmes-Dennis 7 Another assured performance

Upson 7 Best game I have seen him play
O. Clarke 5 He done quite well although a bit sloppy
Ogogo 7 Very good game, best I’ve seen him play.
Sercombe 7 Much better, unlucky not to have scored more, but then could have hit the clock with some of his shots.

Nichols 8 Could have been MoM, linked up well with Sercombe and Clarke- Harris and ran the game at times
Clarke-Harris 8.5 Hatrick cant ask for any more MoM

Crowd 6 At last we were entertained, mostly quiet but got behind the team.

Blackpool 4 Looked a poor side today.

Bonham made some good saves but distribution could have been better, but best we have had for some time sign him up 7.5

Partington far more accomplished than James Clarke. Adds height to a short defence, did well enough to keep his place, hopefully his performance will grow with more games 6.5

O. Clarke better than last week but still needs to up his game by a gear or two. We need him to be at his best he is a distance from it. 6.5


Ogogo broke up play all over the pitch. Good footballer, battled hard and joined in attacks to good effect. Great engine. 7.5


Sercombe wild shots over the stand but good that he was getting in the right position. He was involved in all our best stuff. A real handful today. A good goal to round off an excellent performance 9

Nichols A goal would have pushed for MoTM, 2 would have got him it. Such was his performance. Held the ball up well, worked hard excellent football. Class performance...give us a goal 9

Clarke-Harris looks like a bricklayer but what s performance today. Won ball in the air all day, closed defenders down. Neat on the ground and great finishes. Have we bought him? Such an improvement on Payne. 9.5

Subs: Jakubiak did well when he came on, but as we were 3-0 up at the time perhaps an easy workout. 7

Reilly still looks a little too weak had a chance to score at the death. 6 5

Crowd included my wife, her second game after 25 years of marriage (key to success) last game she came to was at Twerton I think Rovers beat plymouth 4 or 5 nil. I may need to bring her to a another game or two! Good atmosphere not as noisy as a 4-0 should be 7

Blackpool why are we at the bottom with sides like Blackpool higher. 3
