It was always going to be tough against one of the better teams in this league. it's always going to be tough when we can't score chances that are harder to miss

From no.1 - 11 we are an average team I'm afraid. The first half from Rovers was so lifeless - it was almost like we were happy to be 1 down !! Gosling, who had a good game, is a waste on the right wing - he always wants to cut in on his left. We are so predictable - long high balls to Cunny hoping he can flick it on to someone. FGR were very composed for long periods. second half we had great chances (i Think - was sitting in the South stand) at least 5 and only once - Gosling tested the keeper ! Martin has gone to pieces ! Ollie Clarke does not support Mansell enough and we don't really look like scoring. Said it before but we need 3 players to bring some much needed quality to the team. And Darrell Clarke has got to get us playing more football on the deck with players in positions where they can do some damage - Gosling on the left - so he can attack down the side and put balls in. Leadbitter on the right wing until we sign someone with quality there. Then at least we will be able to get down the sides of teams. Punting it to Cunny is so so so predictable and dull.
Higgs /Clarke stop farting around and get the players in - we still have a chance to challenge for top spot. Waiting but not expecting them to deliver!

I like a lot of what Taylor does, but he should be on 15 goals now. Nowhere near clinical enough. I think he needs a stint in the reserves We haven't got a reserve team anymore! Send White out on loan to find out if he still has any shooting boots.

Scrap the sub bit. White has to play in the Cup - we need a striker and he must be tried.

Which I'm sure he'll be deviated to find out.

Phoenix scored all three goals too. They got a penalty and hit the crossbar. Ball rebounded to Michael McGlinchey who scored. He left us this season under acrimonious circumstances. Most ex Mariners get a good welcome back. The past two games we've had to do a bit off booing. Sat next to my Gashead mate last night who said it's going to be a long season. He did laugh when I shouted "FFS come on Rove...,oh Mariners. The boys turned out in a rather nice pink number last night.

Riera, the Spanish dude in the clip with the curly hair, comes from my club Auckland City - didn't turn pro until he was 30 ( one of the Nix's better players) Have a bacon sandwich for breakfast you'll feel much better.....at least you won the Derby last week.

I've got a shark phobia, one of the reasons I emigrated from Australia. Used to swim in NZ, until last year when some poor fella got eaten alive by a great white off an Auckland beach. I don't want to be Patchway's first shark victim......they'll have to crawl up the beach to get me. Come at me shark. luckily my kids just want to hang out at the school pool.
