Absolutely disgraceful. He has been banned by Birmingham City for life, but fans with banning orders still manage to get in and it is hard to enforce. Maybe the banning order should include every time Birmingham play he has to sign in at a police station or something. I hope the coward also serves some jail time, although considering burglars and rapists get off with a slap on the wrist, I highly doubt he will.
Edit: I'm pleased Grealish got the winning goal too. A good way to respond to nut-jobs like that!

Pity bans can't be enforced football-wide and he is stopped from attending any game.
Perhaps he should be paraded round the ground at half time and be forced to clean the loos 🤗

Fair play to Grealish for carrying on with a smile and scoring the winner. His post match interview is of someone who doesnt want to cause any further issues with the Blues fans. Have a feeling things would've been different if the cretin had made a proper connection with Grealish's jaw and caused serious injury.
How the other players on the pitch showed the restraint they did is unreal.
Bloke is getting jail time and should be banned from all football stadiums for life

I'm not condoning the nutter who attacked him at all, but I thought the modern professional footballer reflexes kicked in as soon as he was clobbered. He didn't know it was a fan and automatically fell to ground as soon as contact was made. It looked like a Saturday night post-kebab kind of swipe to me, not a knockout blow.
As I say, not condoning, just observing. Still unforgivable action from the fan.

As well as the prison sentence Birmingham should have been docked three points and made to play their next home game behind closed doors - the club and FA websites, Twitter etc should then make it clear that it was the fault of this individual - see how he copes with that on his shoulders and being hated by his fellow brummies.
Unfortunately, as it stands he will be free in a few weeks and be a legend among his Stone Island clad chav mates.

Because how would anyone know for certain that the individual in question represented the club? In this instance it's obvious as he's wearing a Brum shirt but you can't always be certain, even with them coming from the home section nowadays (given the Leeds-Shed uproar). Hard to determine and therefore harder to punish the clubs, not that I disagree with you Eric. Edit: to be clear as to what I mean, if clubs get automatically fined three points for a pitch invasion, what's stopping me going to Trashton on their final home game and running on the pitch from the home section to get them a points deduction, potentially thwarting their potential playoff position?

I agree but for someone such as in your example it shouldn't be too difficult for the authorities to prove their loyalty towards a certain team. Someone feeling so strongly as to be prepared to commit such a crime would surely have a history of social media posts, bank accounts showing they've regularly attended, season ticket history, even phone records...

Yeah I concur, just think that's why they won't implement that anytime soon. For comparison, we wouldn't have got promoted from the Conference if they docked points with all our sh*thousing

If one of ours did that in a derby we would deserve a big punishment and the knobhead who did it would hopefully get lynched by other Gasheads when released from prison. I'd prefer that than having to go back to watching football from behind fences

If the team were indeed docked three points, then in future you'll find the fans themselves 'policing' this sort of nonsense. You can introduce legislation, increase the amount of stewards etc, but the best solution are the fans themselves. If those around him were aware of what he planned to do they may have stepped in to stop him if they knew the team would be docked points.

But what if some drunken nobhead gets onto the pitch, before anyone around him can react? And the fact that he may cost his team points probably wouldn`t enter his head, if he`d just downed half a dozen cans of Carlsberg Special Brew.
Seems harsh to penalise the club and the rest of the fans.

Unfortunately you can never ever cover every angle. However, self-Policing by the fans is the best way to go.

Thank goodness a Rovers fan would never attempt to punch a player on the pitch.
