Yep, hate it we're not doing the same, but that's where we are. We need to learn how to evolve and not revolve. You should be in a band.

I won’t be listening to it as I cannot recall the last thing he said of true meaning! Politician answers and open ended optimism is all good and wellbut meaningless to me. I’ll check back here to see if anything of interest was actually said! I bet not! But will you believe anything that is reported back here after the event ?

That mentality is the problem...why don't we aim to be higher than league 1? You saying my mentality is holding us back? We always aim to be higher but unless you've got a spare billion or two just hanging around what else do you expect? It’s tricky one. We’re actually not that far off challenging higher up the table. When we had Bodin and snake, in the first half of 2016/17, we were definitely challenging for the play offs and in with a sniff. I’d argue that since they both left, Ellis really stepped up for a bit, but we have lacked those game changers. We are probably at about the same level in defence and midfield but just haven’t had that extra bit of quality. Now, a fully fit THD and JCH have bolstered us and we look a far more capable team again. We’re still a world away from competing with the Sunderlands of this world, though. Serious cash and/or luck/inspiration with quite a few signings would be needed to catapult us into that sphere. That’s why I think a lot of people think promotion to the championship could be a bit of a distaster if we don’t have the infrastructure in place to compete, even with the lower level clubs in that division.

This is genuinely not personal but indulge me in a little history. I think I'm right that you used to be 'roadman' (or was it roadman's son... ) and used to have quite strident views and expressed them so. You then left the forum one day. Dare I suggest history may be repeating itself? Look, you have a view, and others have a view, but no need to suggest that your view is the right one, and that what you have written is all fact. No need for sly comments that so and so poster used to love selfies with wael, with the logical conclusion that he must therefore be a hypocrite / sycophant. THIS is why some people think this forum is a joke. This forum has lots of intelligent posts (including parts of yours) and interesting analysis and views, but for god's sake, there are a myriad of genuinely fair and differing opinions out there. Not leaving the forum brother, actually quite enjoy it. Dave is the banter king, I was just having some with him and yes he did have selfies with Wael, it was all over his twitter handle. I think said on my last post on here I’ve enjoyed the debate and mine is just an opinion. For the record when I buy a house I do due diligence and did the board do this properly on the UWE? I see both sides of the argument and having met Wael several times it doesn’t mean I am in his pocket. I think unity is better right now, that’s us staying up and me giving Wael the benefit of the doubt. Tonight’s interview was set up 4 weeks ago and like you I hope to find out more tonight. I judge a person on meeting them and their actions. Wael Al Qadi is a diehard Gashead, he really is and he wants the best for our club and is trying to put things right. I look at Alan Sugar, Tony Fernandes, Venkiys, Tiger at Oxford now, football is another level of business. Do we add Wael to the list, probably yes right now with the UWE and training ground collapse but having met the guy, listened to him and seen his passion, I truly believe he’s trying to put it right, hence benefit of the doubt and tonight. Sounds like selfie talk to me

Why can none of our owners or board appear live on the show to answer fans questions? I will listen, but whether I will be any the wiser after the interview I doubt. Haven’t been from any of the others.

We don't need to compete with Sunderland nor even Barnsley to get promoted we need to compete with the likes of Charlton, Luton, Donny & Blackpool, with a decent ground and 15K average home attendance that seems possible. it will be interesting to see what Luton do if they go up as their home attendance is unlikely to increase substantially, so in theory they should come straight back down next season if we apparently can't survive in the Championship.

I hope they keep Roy behind the bar.

They all protested by shaking their keys at the same time. Next thing you know, they split from Czechoslovakia. Maybe we should jingle our keys next home game 😂

I think calling him a diehard gashead is abit OTT... maybe with time he will be,but just because the guy stands in the away end with fans when things are going good doesnt mean anything.Where has he been while things have been sh**..? Sadly in hiding..Higgs and the dunfords where more diehard gasheads as they fronted up to us when needed. I like wael and believe he has the right intent and cares about our club, but unless something concrete and meaningful is delivered by him and his family while they are here him kissing the badge and declaring his love wont wash with alot of people.Honestly, hard work, and results off the pitch is what his job is to do given his position at the club. Club owners that were diehards and delivered are the likes of the late Jack walker at Blackburn and David Whelan at Wigan. If wael provide what those two did here in regards to stadiums than the boy will have done good.
