good result. very good performance. Praise to all the back 4 - so solid !! Only 8,300 !!! - is that the Wael factor kicking in ? Shame after 3 excellent wins. Oh well 4 clean sheets now and you fancy us to get a point minimum against anyone now.

That’s a good point. Could (should?) have perhaps won it in the end but I’ll take that any day. Shame Shrewsbury scored 2 last minute goals as we’ve gone from relative comfort (for a game or 2 anyway) to straight back in the mixer yeah but they beat Wycombe so some kind of silver -lining !

A good result in difficult conditions. Quite astonishing to see that if we just draw our game in hand, we could move into the top half of the table. That would be deceptive, since we'd still only be three points above the drop zone, but still...... I never imagined when GC took over we could be within easy reach of 12th place. How far were we off safety when GC took over? I think we were 2nd bottom 4/5? points behind. The transformation has been remarkable. I must admit I was gutted when DC left, thought we were done for. Now, with hindsight it looks to be a excellent appointment. Definately the right decision at the time GC is a safe pair of hands and has made us harder to beat. Though I do miss the drama of DC we needed stability and GC brought it. It will be interesting to see what happens next season with GC starting with a clean slate.

Strange thing is after countless posters said we needed width along with correct footed wingers and yet were picking up good results with zero width and very little flair or creativity. We even play with full-backs who are not particularly comfortable going forward.
Were very well drilled and organised though and what counts most is getting enough points to stay up.

Whats wrong with Kelly when he goes forward ? good touch on the ball and a good crosser of the ball.

It’s ok not having wingers if you play 4-3-1-2. It’s set up for central players. We struggle to win when we play sercombe , Sinclair etc wide. Cogs definitely making the most of what he’s got to work with.

I still maintain however that it was a mistake letting Bennett go as, accepting he had a poor first half of the season, he does have quality and just might have thrived with an overlapping full back such as THD, which would have given him the option of 4-4-2. However, he is doing a very good job so far in his mission to keep us up. I think he will achieve this, although it's going to go to the wire!

He's no THD yet, but is more than useful as back up to him.

Well, just arrived home and a little disappointed we could not get a winner Considering the very difficult conditions thought it was a very entertaining game between a decent footballing side and our team of battlers who under GC never seem to give up or stop trying. What a revelation it is to see such a transformation from a team that seemed to be so easily bullied by most teams we met, to a really streetwise outfit who are quite capable of bullying the best of them. Well done GC, keep it going. I will stay at the helm of the match day thread for the Plymouth game where hopefully are unbeaten run can continue and most importantly the clean sheets can continue. UTG!

Not too sure I'd want to stand on an open terrace with gale force winds swirling around and the constant threat of rain. We really do need to get a new stadium, where supporters will get the basics of proper protection, a modicum of comfort and good views. Is that really asking too much?

Charlton have not lost in 7 games. They have to play 5 of the teams below us. That was a massive point against a good organised side. Others won't get points off them.

Also we have 0 players who are creative except possibly nichols. Consider sercombe to be busy around the final third but not creative as such. Its working though as i said. Most teams that operate with our system play with attacking full backs but we only have one and he was on the bench.

Anyone seen any footage of the two offside goals? Bowyer said he’s seen it back and theirs was onside?
And to me Jak could see across the line and really had no need to be offside - that was poor (if he was).
