Unless he gets his head turned by all the rumours and the dreams of playing in the Championship and earning more money. Then his concentration isn't on our games, he stops scoring goals and we end up back in the sh**. Unless he gets his head turned by all the rumours and the dreams of playing in the Championship and earning more money. Then his concentration remains on our games, he continues scoring goals and we end up in the top half come May. Of course he will get his head turned and off-ski asap, BRFC have never managed to keep any player who wanted to leave; personally, if the fella keeps BRFC in div 1 and the club makes a large chunk of transfer money, that is the best we can expect. Nothing new, we all know it, its like being on a hamster wheel supporting the Gas. Generally we have always been a mid to top of the table third tier club, when the first and second tier come a knocking we are ******.

And proves yet again that slagging off players, staff and owners over a few stats needs to stop. The over reaction to his signing was embarrassing to be honest. No wonder he looks like he wants to tell everyone to f**k off when he scores. He probably read that thread! Who was slagging him off? I'm sure most are pleasantly surprised that he has stepped up to the plate and if his success rubbing it in poster's faces spurs him on to score more goals then that is fantastic in my opinion and I'm glad to have been of service. But strewth there seems to be a lot of point scoring going on based on 5 goals in two months. It's all a bit pathetic really. If he stops scoring and we get relegated we won't hear a peep out of the people giving it the big one now. Didn't hear a peep out of you about Payne, come to think of it... So okay, in the future I'll learn my lesson not to have any doubts about our signings whatsoever because they are all brilliant, like Payne and Bakayoko. Brilliant transfer business- how could I ever have had doubts?! :rolls eyes: I can't be arsed to trawl through pages to find the thread when he signed, but even at the time it was a massive over reaction based on stats.

Payne actually had a decent record but turned out to be a complete donkey! If we just went by stats he looked a good signing.

Tbf, if you've never heard of a striker, chances are his stats are a pretty good telling of how good a player is. I was speaking to a Coventry fan after JCH's hattrick & he was saying that whilst he looked decent, most were moaning about his finishing ability. Based on this logic, when Nichols eventually leaves, he'll become top scorer or league 1 without a doubt

Matty Taylor hardly set the world alight before coming here.

Crazy league this year.

Was it? We hardly had any goals to our name....so at the 11th hour we sign a striker with hardly any goals to his name. Fans, rightly, were going to be a bit underwhelmed at the club. Being personal about the player is not on- the issue is with the club. On the topic of stats if you went to a bookie on the 1st of Feb and asked them to give you a price for JCH to score 10 goals for Rovers how do you think they would have compiled the odds? Would thet have phoned up his school PE teacher to ask them how well he trained? His stats at previous clubs would be a big indicator of them giving you generous odds because he simply has no previous form. Honestly- I've a wonder you have any time to post on here, you should be out spending all your winnings that you have gained backing strikers with water poor goal records and laughing at the bookies for under-estimating them just like we did with JCH, thus proving to us all that you can't read anything into stats.

I will be amazed and very, very watered off if JCH leaves this summer unless someone was offering really silly and insane money...eg : £3million - £5million, unless he has signed a 6 month contract and we agreed to add a silly £100k release clause in his contract. The kid seems like a decent guy and a good talent and needs to prove himself more in my view for a club from the championship to take a punt on him right now for decent money.

can't believe championship clubs are falling over themselves about JCH. His record at that level and lower level is nothing to create such interest it could be he has found the right club ,management, and fans to suit his personality and his performances reflect his pleasure in being here,of course if he continues in the same vain till next January then all that could change, hope he stays till we have ready made replacement.

I doubt they are. Every time a striker goes on a spell you get this in the media.

Either way, I saw why fans were frustrated when he was first signed. They have a right to express their opinions. It is/was wrong of them to slate the coaching staff.
