In the end it doesn’t matter what/if we paid for him. He’s here he’s scoring goals and we look a better team with him. Great! UTG! Personally I think it does matter, as if TW/GC picked him on a free it represents an incredible bit of business given the money DC spent on Nichols, Mensah & Payne, all players with no real sell on value.

Clarke-harris had a decent career before he joined rovers. We payed an undisclosed fee for him.He was very young playing in a struggling rotherham team in the championship. He played his part in coventry's promotion last season and was a regular this season. It was widely reported that sunderland were looking to sign him before we signed him. Any proof that was the case as Mark Robbins stated that he joined us on a free after no offers were forthcoming from the likes of Sunderland & Fleetwood? "But on a remarkable day of events, City went from possibly getting a fee for the centre-forward to simply getting him off the wage bill." www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/transfer-news/revealed-sunderland-portsmouth-contacted-coventry-15767404Must admit i thought it said "undisclosed fee" on our website when we signed him but but seemingly not.

That’s fine Topper you do, I don’t. In the end it’s the same thing because whatever “undisclosed” means it won’t mean much and like most of our good players he will be sold eventually. My point was, he’s here, he’s scoring goals and we look a better team. Something I hope we can agree on.😉 UTG!

We've got a striker on a short but good run of form. Half the fans will be upset if we sell him too cheap, half the fans will be upset if we sell him for a decent price, half the fans will be upset if we don't sell him and he loses form and then half the fans will claim they told you so if we keep him, he has a dip in form but then comes good in nine months time. sorry mate but there's just something not quite right about these stats Different halves?? 🤔 UTG!

Mark Robbins stated a life changing contract from Rovers If a player is on a long contract at a few thousand a week that is a fair chunk of cash. We could have said 'JCH, RIP up your contract and instead of us paying Coventry a fee we'll pay you the remainder of your deal as a signing on fee' If I was mid 20's and someone bought me a 3 bed house just having no mortgage is something I'd class as life changing

They'd be happy with a short lease on a Range Rover, a fit Wag and a thick wodge of cash.
