Bonham 6 didnt have too much to do and not much he could have done for the Luton goals J. Clarke 7 solid, got up and down the pitch well Lockyer 6 not as commanding as in previous weeks but I guess the quality of the opposition didnt help. Craig 6.5 an ok game Kelly 5 gave his man far too much space and with THD going off the boil we have a problem at LB Upson 6.5, typical Upson game, won some tackles, gave the ball away sometimes but never game up. O. Clarke 6 a bit like Upson but we know Ollie can do better. Ogogo 6 ok but is he really any better than Sinclair ? Sercombe 5 I can count the number of good games he's played this season on one hand and this wasnt one of them. Nichols 5 The effective man whom we saw in Feb and early March has gone, little boy lost has returned. Clarke-Harris 8.5 M.o.M strong, great goal, worked his socks off, Luton tried to bully him but he'd have none of it!! Subs: Jakubiak 6 not a game changer Reilly n.o.l.e. Crowd 8 good support Ref 5 looked at the league table before the game and acted accordingly. Luton 9 excellent in all positions , they might surprise a few teams in the Championship next season

Bonham 6 - not much to do
J. Clarke 6.5 - had lots of attacking space. Did ok but a class below the Luton wing backs Lockyer 6 - average Craig 6 - average Kelly 5 - too many mistakes
Upson 5 - good at times but lack of pace from a standing start causes us problems against the better teams O. Clarke 5 - tried hard but nowhere near his best Ogogo 5.5 - energetic performance but a bit headless at times meant that he did not always track the right man Sercombe 3 - very poor. Well off the pace. Must be a reason for his poor form this season as definitely has the ability
Nichols 4 - have been a big fan this season but patience has run out re lack of goals. Had a chance at nil-nil, not easy but any striker needs to score at least a handful of these in a season. Offside too often and switched off at times not tracking back when he should of Clarke-Harris 7.5 - what a goal! Not at his best but our best player by a long way
Subs: Jakubiak 5.5 - looked better than Nichols but apart from Oxford away has not looked like scoring goals in League 1 Reilly NOLE
Crowd 7 - reasonable atmosphere Ref 4 - all for referees not giving lots of cards but too lenient and not really in control. Gave to much time to players going down with non-serious injuries. Luton 8- good side. Wing backs very impressive

Bonham,5, never made a meaningful save. J Clarke,6,steady away. Lockyer, 5,not back to his best and what was he doing who was he supposed to be marking for their first? Craig, 5 as above, what was he doing and who was he supposed to be marking for their first. Kelly, 6 did far better that THD did midweek.
Upson, 6 tried and was probably just our best midfielder. O Clarke, 5 not his best and struggled in a midfield that were up against it. Ogogo, 5.5 as above. Sercombe,2 what has happened to him. Needs dropped for his and the teams benefit.
Nichols, 2 no goals Nichols, based on yesterday what's the point in playing a non goalscoring striker? Harris,6.5 scored a good team goal, probably should have had a second.
Jakubiak, 2 did he touch the ball when he came on? Reilly nole.
Crowd 4 Ref 2 awful. Luton 8 champions elect.

I though Ogogo was at fault for their first by letting the full back go and run into space to put the cross in.

Bonham 6 J. Clarke 6 needs a winger/anyone to pass the ball too on the right hand side. Lockyer 5 slow decision making/invites pressure Craig 5 slow decision making/invites pressure Kelly 5 Upson 4 slow decision making/ slow in general O. Clarke 5 slow in general Ogogo 5 slow in general, but good tackles Sercombe 3 Slow all round and poor distribution. Nichols 4 no strength Clarke-Harris 8 passionate, strong and willing, 10 more of him on the pitch and we could compete in the champions league Subs: Jakubiak 5 no impact Reilly 5 no impact Crowd 6 Ref 3 Luton 5 didn't look that impressive for a top of table team, could of beat them if our players didn't show them respect.

J. Clarke 6 needs a winger/anyone to pass the ball too on the right hand side. Standing on the open East Terrace there have been numerous times in recent home games when we've desperately needed Daniel Leadbitter overlapping down the right flank. Instead JC, for whom I've got a lot of time, has to slow down, put it on his left foot, and trundle inside; or take it to the line and, because of lack of pace, kick it against a defender for a corner: and we know what happens to our corners!

I agree with just about everything titchthepost said re. the players performance but add:
Ogogo - he’s a stopper but didn’t really do that and didn’t create much. Like Upson and Sercombe, lacks physical strength so we easily get out muscled by other teams like Luton who are fast and physical but not as skilful as Charlton or Barnsley. Bonham didn’t have much to do so 6 is harsh; 7 for me. Best goalie we have had for some time; his only weakness are ground shots close to his left and sometimes his right foot? Sercombe - my favourite player last year but I agree, something missing, seems to be a different player after he suffered that injury vs Walsall at home and got replaced after 15 minutes? Tries hard but just cannot get into the game but to be fair he has been playing wide a lot which does not suit him. Nichols - tries to gain a few yards but gets offside too much! The only way to gain a few yards is to move / anticipate BEFORE the ball is kicked from an onside position. For a striker to score goals, he needs to either create or be in the position to shoot / head at goal but he seems to get very few chances? O Clarke - has been off for the last 5 games or so. He did try hard vs Luton though but like most of our players / season, we always seem to be chasing opposition / games. JCH - superb. I think he should have brought on Reilly first as Jakubiak lacks pace and control? Reilly plays a more loner / wider role? Also JCH played a more central role in attack as a target man so it should be up to his striking partners to be within 10 yards of him, preferably in the box, when he is jumping for a ball as there is at least a 50% chance he will knock it on. Kelly - 2 stupid balls horizontally across the whole width of the pitch which got us into trouble; the old adage about passing across the back? and remember the Ellis pass back to the goalie vs Scunny 2 seasons ago when we were attacking with the ball on the left wing? Ref - London teams always get the benefits? That’s why Wimbledon and Wycombe and Oxford will probably escape or not be far from escaping! Luton were always in his ear at every opportunity! Crowd - happy to have scored before the break but our away support far more vocal.

Results in and Jonson Clarke-Harris is Man of the Match for the third game in a row and EIGTH time in eleven games.
This is the tenth time that the same player has been MotM for three games in a row and Clarke-Harris has actually achieved it twice. I'll post all ten is a separate post below.
The starting XI average was 5.71.
Finally, this was the 40th league game of the season, so I'll try and update the season statistics thread at some point this week.
Bonham 6.0
J. Clarke 6.5 Lockyer 6.0 Craig 6.1 Kelly 5.5
Upson 6.3 O. Clarke 4.8 Ogogo 5.8 Sercombe 3.8
Nichols 4.4 Clarke-Harris 7.6
Subs: Jakubiak 4.9 Reilly 5.2
Crowd 6.4 Ref 3.9 Luton 7.7
