Glad I'm not the only one who has no idea why we need or even want a TV screen. I'd argue there's no need for a scoreboard either...it's not exactly difficult to remember the score during the game is it? Except one stage during the Donny game perhaps. If it's a boring nil-nil they can put Babestation on? Hadn't thought of that!

When they announced we would be getting the screen, they said that sponsor's were paying for it. Think it was Brunel but not 100%. It’s been that long coming, I think it’s been sponsored by Isambard Kingdom Brunel! Apparently he was a Rovers fan, the Bridge is ours. # they are coming for me

Just seems like a big load of wasted time and money to me. All you need in a ground like the Mem is a scoreboard that works all the time. The money probably could have been spent on getting better players rather than bringing in players that aren’t good enough for this level that nobody else wanted and ending up with a massive squad of below average players. Maybe they’ll use it in the summer for the England matches or something, I hope it’ll pay for itself and make us a profit otherwise I can’t see the point. Glad I'm not the only one who has no idea why we need or even want a TV screen. I'd argue there's no need for a scoreboard either...it's not exactly difficult to remember the score during the game is it? Except one stage during the Donny game perhaps. Why stop at the TV Screen ? Lets get rid of all the bars and food outlets because we don't need them to watch football, plenty of local places for that sort of thing Its not about why we need it, its about MONEY and the ability to generate it through advertising. Any useful information it puts out is a bonus

I am doing work in Gloucester road and at around 9am this morning . A large lorry came in and went to the section in the away south stand seating. They were taking large items off with a crane. I assume this is it ??

There is a sign up there at the moment Maple? It's replacing that . Personally I would prefer a bloke hanging up the scores on letters

I understand there's no sign of the TV being delivered and there's little chance of it being installed by Saturday, I supposed if there's any truth in the rumours about a takeover the ALQ's aren't going to be spending a load of money on a TV screen.

The "TV" has been on site for some time and comes in small sections which are assembled on site once the frame is in place

FFS Topper, I've said this so many times now, the club are not spending any money on it, it's being paid for by the sponsor.

Just repeating what was said today by somebody at the club, perhaps they were unaware of today's delivery or the delivery is nothing to do with the TV.

If they've paid up front then I'd be starting to get a bit edgy if I were them given that we've only 3 home games to go this season.

The club have kept him informed.

The screen was part of it. If we got new owners, then why would they not want it?? It's bringing in extra revenue. Plus Gorringe said that were hoping to start today and someone else said there was cranes unloading today. It might not happen, but people within the club are chatting sh** all the time anyway. Some people definitely have an agenda.

With all due respect topper , you really should read posts before commenting, it’s been mentioned on more than one occasion that sponsors are paying for it.

What do you mean read the posts, Hugo was replying to my post about there being no signs of the TV being installed this week, suggest you read the thread before posting in future. In the meantime my question still stands have the sponsors, paid in full for the TV or in instalments over the length of their sponsorship.

As much as I am looking forward to the new tv, could someone confirm that a large mirror is going to be erected over the thatcher’s end and facing towards the tv screen so my fellow south standers and I can see what’s going on please. The sponsor, who has indeed paid for it (so NO cost to the club) also sits in the South Stand so won't be able to see it either I posted this yesterday and Wertongas mentioned it too on page 1. So, for the 4th or 5th time on this thread alone and on others in the past the sponsor is paying for the big screen, not the club. Hopefully, that's cleared that up.
