We desperately need someone to play alongside him who can also score, someone quick, strong with good control and has accurate shooting . So it wont be any of the ones we have Matty Taylor? How could we afford MT wages and probably 750k fee ?

So it wont be any of the ones we have I will probably be tarred and feathered for saying this... If stefan Payne comes back with a point to prove and gels with JCH (both seem to have similar characteristics) can you imagine if they were your front two.. Physically imposing, no back 4 in the league would want to face that. But.... But... I know...we can't expect anything of the sort from Payne. Payne can't even get on the pitch for Shrewsbury I sense most back 4 would like to face Payne!

JCH or Ellis, who's the better player ? JCH in my opinion. I'd still have both. Imagine that as our strike force next season.

I'd still have both. Imagine that as our strike force next season. That would be an excellent combination. The skill and cleverness of Ellis combined with the ruthless JCH would scare most defenders at this level.

He has been brilliant so far, but surely it's a tad premature to talk about him leaving. He'll have to maintain this for at least a season before clubs come knocking. I hope. Even opposition fans when we play away are praising JCH. Prime case was Plymouth away at end of game when we merged with them as we were leaving the game. You cannot fault him at all with regard to work rate, positioning, holding the ball, temperament, calmness when on the ball or in front of goal, a team player and very humble but he also has the balls to berate some of our players on the pitch when he is not getting the service he expects (and he had the decency to go and shake the Bradford goalie's hand at 1-1 when he made a good save to keep us out). He has been booked a couple of times now but that shows his spirit and commitment. But one of the few extras he brings up front is that he is rarely offside - unlike Nichols and Gaffney?

Absolutely agree. He has been a brilliant signing and has contributed massively to us staying up. I think we can all agree on that! I just can't see him leaving yet though. As fans we tend to get a bit carried away but clubs will think long and hard before spending money. Is this just a hot streak of form or can he sustain it over an extended period? I hope he can sustain it as we will benefit some more from that. If he does continue scoring in to say, next January, then we may have a fight on our hands to keep him. But I am confident he'll be here in August. Cue a £300k transfer to Trashton...

JCH or Ellis, who's the better player ? Seeing Sunderland struggling to make the top 2 made me think who would have been a better buy to replace Maja, Will Grigg, for a rumoured £4m if they get promoted, with a goal return of 4 goals in 13 games, or JCH, on a rumoured free transfer, with 11 goals in 11 games?

JCH is no pussycat No tail, but lots of tats. Long claws (metaphorically, that) Neat touch, and he's hard, he can score from forty yards.
No need to thank me.

You have to start singing a modified version of the Rory Gaffney song and get your wifes lined up

I mean he already has a song.
Has there ever been a song that started from someone posting on here?

They did try the ode to Ellis to the tune of "i was kaiser bill's batman" but did not sound right
