I assume if Bonham sensed he was going to be released there's nothing stopping us talking to him about a deal, but whether he was listening is another matter! Not sure what's going on with Chapman at P'boro have they transfer listed him as they want shot, or just because he's only a year left on his present contract and as so far refused to sign a new one? If it's the former they've clearly got a replacement lined up. Don't they have a policy of transfer listing anyone in the last year of their contract? I did refer to that in my post, it seems a bit odd to me though as I doubt Chapman now thinks he's too good for P'boro and so has refused to sign a new contract. Although perhaps their player's agents have now got wise to the owners and have told their players to keep their options open in the final year of their contracts, who knows! P'boro usually act quick so they'll probably announce the new goalie soon if they are actually getting one.

I think it was evident how much better we looked when he was in the team to be fair. TN had 7 assists which is far and away the best at Rovers last season, second I believe was only 4, I feel TN gets an hard time as with assists and goals he contributed to 9 of our goals, Jakubiak is seen as a decent prospect but got just the 2 league goals with no assists. If TN could add goals to his all round play he could be a very good striker, what's the betting if he leaves us he then turns into the next Andy Williams, who seemed to have the same issues after we paid big money for him. Nichols didn't score two goals he scored one penalty, unless you also want to include his cup goal in which case Jakubiak has scored as many goals in 15 starts as Tom Nichols has (including penalties) in 52. 7 assists and 1 converted penalty doesn't cut it when you consider Reilly, Jakubiak and Payne scored 8 between them spread out across less game time and at a cost of £350,000, as confirmed by Darragh MacAnthony.

If he told me today is Monday, I’d check it on a calendar first.😉 UTG!

That's the problem catching up with threads!

I don't know why they don't play him out wide, then the pressure to score is not as great, but it could be DC buys him from us (Pleeeeeeeeeaaaassseee)

Got a nasty feeling he will actually. Hope not. Get him signed up Wael!!! Just a hunch and seems a good fit. Stevenage where he is originally from is not far from Peterborough. Peterborough have just put Aaron Chapman (another ex Rovers keeper) on the transfer list. They'll offer better money than us and where they are as a club probably fits in with where Jack Bonham is in his career right now. Not Peterborough but just knew we wouldn't get him... Signed for Gillingham.

Very disappointing. We all know what a mystery a new keeper can be.
Strange that he ended up at gillingham too.

Takes my Gas-o-meter for today back down from happy to it's usual middling level. Maybe as PP says above, 'overrated', but I would of been happy to sign him.

Gutted can't believe he would rather go there hope we have a decent keeper lined up, Frank fielding or Dean Gherken would be decent.

Disappointed but Gillingham is nearer to where he’s from and they can match our wages and league status.
I’m sure it’s top of Coughlan’s priorities to find someone decent to fill the position.

It’s not down to GC’s judgement, we offered him a contract and he rejected it plain and simple. I’m sure some will use this to say that it’s because Rovers lack ambition but if that were true why would someone like Mark Little want to join us?

Not sure you can compare a 30 yr RB looking for a club to a young up and coming goalie. Unless Steve Evans as convinced Paul Scully to open his cheque book this summer I'm surprised they can out bid us, when they're usually been one of the lower payers in Div 1. Disappointed for Bonham that he's signed for such an average Div 1 club having turned our offer down.
