GC mentioned about having to cut the wage bill of the staff down and telling some he is letting them go. He also wants to bring 1 or 2 of his own people in. Do people know who any of the ones going or coming in, are?

At this rate the London office is surely in jeopardy?

You've asked the same on the GC thread, why's it so vital you know who's leaving?

Nice to see him pass the responsibility of naming the staff who are leaving onto the club. Let's see if the club have the respect to give them at least an article on the website. That's respect for their staff and their paying customers.

I heard from a reliable source (ie one of those to be made redundant) at the start of the season. One of the reasons I think that DC lost interest. Surprised it's taken this long to be implemented.

Was DC too loyal? Has GC got the nastier streak in him, which appears required to cut the budget?

Still you keep beating the club with that stick of yours.

Hopefully that won't mean stripping down the Development Squad staff to almost nothing. I do agree that there are overstaffing issues though.

It’s all a bit sad that redundancies are going to be made. It might be me and this might be a lot of b***** but not being in the know but I wonder if..... In the conference we seemed to be a fairly lean staff with DC and a few without much back up support. This led to us being labelled rag bag etc etc. When the AlQadis came in they said about building from the bottom, developing a youth structure etc amongst other things said. Our staff seemed to mushroom which was great. Our medical back up grew much stronger, coaches for this and that. Wael’s enthusiasm (and desire for us to be as near to how Chelsea was run as possible perhaps) just got away from him and some of the stuff we did was just unsustainable financially esp Hani seemed to put the brakes on regarding spending. I suspect the initial enthusiasm of Wael wasn’t matched by his knowledge of the financial side of a football club and that enthusiasm carried him away. Basically I wonder if he didn’t know much about a football club’s finances and now it’s all coming home to roost.
Now we have to cut staff back and become more like we used to be. Perhaps this will lead to a leaner more first-team-focussed approach that we may not even notice. Its a great shame if people are going to lose their jobs but if it’s unsustainable then we have to do it. Nothing is more important than the good of the club. Perhaps GGMI is right that it’s GC who has a meaner streak and will do that. Good luck to him seriously.
UTG!

Before any staff are cut that London office needs to go! Along with one of the chairman/CEO/COO and whoever else is hanging on for a final paycheque.
Hardworking fitness, coaching and academy staff shouldn’t lose their jobs when we’re forking out money on such madness.
