I see John Ward is a coach there!!! So someone he know's is already there. They’ll have McGhee as club chef soon too!

Doesn't midlandgas (DC's biggest hater/troll) live in Walsall and go to a few of their games?
Can't wait to see his reaction

I love DC to bits, but can’t help but take the water out of the in the knowers who claimed confidently that he had a championship role lined up for next season. Also, for those that have actually been to Walsall, would you really rather go there than the Mem? Particularly now they’ve shut the outside bar which used to be quite good.

Walsall are a very well run club and DC will do well there, in my opinion. Good luck!!!

A good fit. Hopefully he's recharged his batteries and is raring to go. Walsall fans seem pleased: upthesaddlers.com/t/darrell-clarke-confirmed-as-manager/2842/4Interesting to see how it works out with John Ward, listed on their site as Professional Development Coach. I don't think they share the same footballing philosophies. Marcus Stewart? Worth a bet for the Yeovil job? I can see a few of our players going up the M5. No disrespect but we have an abundance of players who could do a good job in L2!

Interesting. I do wonder if he is kicking himself about the Leeds job, and shows you have to make hay when the sun shines in football. Maybe not quite ready for the pressure of the big time yet, but I’m sure he will get there again. I’d love to see him come visit us sometime, and suspect Walsall will be strong contenders to bounce back now

As long as there aren't repeated broken promises about investment I'm sure he'll handle it What promises were they then?? I never saw any promises? From day one they said they would grow the club the right way. Every season the budget went up to the maximum allowed. They grow it, by getting better sponsorship etc. Looks to me that they kept thier promise's. They just didn't do what the post reported and fans took in lol. Hope he does well at Walsall, unless they ever play us! You trying to convince yourself?

I'll say it now but he will 100% get them in the top seven at a minimum if he's able to bring in the players he wants.

That was central to the downfall, certainly more so than promises which may or may not have been made.

I would be amazed if anyone claims they haven’t been disappointed by what has transpired over the last couple of years . Not saying we are worse off, just the same as we have always been with a few improvements. As for growing the club, how can they possibly do that at the Mem? Anyway, good luck DC. Always wanted the best for Rovers fans and you can’t ask for more than that. I'm constantly stunned that so few people seem concerned re: The Colony. That the last we heard about the massive site we brought in Almondsbury was 18 (eighteen) months ago. Must be doing the survey with a quill.

Brilliant club for a brilliant bloke.
No need whatsoever to dredge up the past, he is a club legend that got a few signings wrong and things went south. Good luck to him, good luck to them.
Nothing more need be said on the matter imo.

Failed planning app for 20+ acres of housing (did not get past initial talks), bad advice from our "planning consultants" now left to rot Nothing will ever happen and will be land banked until planning rules change

I see John Ward is a coach there!!! So someone he know's is already there. Wardy most likely recommended him for the role. The way Clarke slagged off Ward in public after Ward left I don't think Ward wil be there long

A bit underwhelming to be honest. Leeds Utd or Walsall. How things have changed.

Chris Lines and Stuart Sinclair to Walsall? Leadbitter ? I would be surprised if at least one of those doesn’t end up there. Possibly even Partington if he is seeking more first team opportunities.

Really pleased for DC, but gutted at the same time. Don't know if I can deal with seeing him in another team's dugout.
