Well "mate" We had a really good team, now we have a very poor team in my view. Were going nowhere unless we have big investment, the sort of investment wael kept telling us was on its way in the form of a new ground,a top class training facility and a high category academy. Thats what he told everyone who cared to listen. You disagree with my view which is fine. "Mate" last summer City lost Flint, Bryan and Reid and spent less on new signings and yet had a stronger season, narrowly missing the playoffs. When we lost 3 key players we replaced them with 3 disasters - Nichols, Mensah and Payne !! Judging by GC's first 2 signings - he looks like he can pick up very good replacements. we'll see who he signs - Wouldn't be surprised if we finish top half even without our captain going ! UTG ! I would be surprised but glad your staying positive.

Thanks to all 3 of them and Danny L they were great servants of the club. SS was the ideal player for us, wore his heart on his sleeve and never gave less than his everything. Wish we’d kept him but understand why GC did what he did. TL was part of two promotions so thanks but disappointed that he’s gone under the circumstances but wish him all the best. Time will tell if he’s good enough for the Championship. I think he will be but his distribution will need to improve for him to thrive. CL wasnt going to play under GC and after saving us GC has earned the right to do the choosing but the parting could have been dealt with a bit better but this is football and I’ve not heard anything from GC that was disrespectful to CL ( and I asked enough times on here and was ignored!). In the end we move on, hope they do well and that we do. UTG!

Find it strange that having listened to the show all I heard was three lads who clearly loved their time here and have got nothing but fond memories.
Yet there are 10 pages discussing one comment made by TL about staying too long!
Good luck to all three.

Spot on. A player is entitled to want to progress his career. We should be praising him for his exemplary attitude and commitment while he was here. All three deserve our thanks for their commitment and their quality in the quarters, each playing a massive part in the rebirth of our club.

Agreed, and I wasn't bothered about Lockyer leaving anyway, but he's done himself no favours by saying what he did. His form was a bit shaky for 2/3 of the season so maybe it did affect him (after not being given a transfer last summer etc)

If anyone interested some cracking goals scored in 2009 for Gas, including my favourite Chris Lines goal (seen in the flesh )around 3 mins into the vid v Millwall, followed by an average one by Andy Williams at Southampton

I can't believe that I actually remember all those goals, although it took me to watch the video to bring the memories out of their dusty compartments. Easy to forget how many great goals Jeff Hughes scored for us. He was always picked on by a number of fans for his "laziness" a little bit like Richard Walker. Yet you simply could not argue with his goal scoring prowess whilst with that Gas.
