I probably shouldn’t be writing this because I’ve had a few too many glasses of a red wine (which Oldie would approve of ) and I’m sitting in a hotel room in Zug Switzerland getting ready to pull off quite a big deal tomorrow but with typical Rover stoicism knowing it will probably all go t*ts up ! My Rovers experience started in 1963 sitting on the wall in front of the North Enclosure constantly being told by the stewards “get your feet back on the other side son”. I graduated to the Tote End and by 1987 was in a position to help (in a very small way) Denis and Geoff save Rovers. You lot know me as the miserable git who consistently predicts financial disaster but, believe me, I have come up the hard way and I was right about Nick Higgs management of the club and I will be proved right about this crowd. If you think a photograph of a celebrity with a middle aged wannabe and a Rovers shirt is anything to be proud of you are living in the land of make believe as is our club President. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was Wilf Smith. It’s nothing to be proud ( prowed, for any 💩 ‘heads ) of but it’s also nothing to get your nickers in a twist over. It’s just a photo.

The problem is, the club is a mess on and off the pitch and we we hear nothing from our owners save a picture of Wael Dam about with the Fresh Prince. I'm not sure what kind of publicity we are going for here but I don't think it's working.

Wael gets a photograph with Will Smith, who had over 31 million follows on Instagram and according to loads on here, that is a bad thing lol. No harm will come from the photo, but it can help promote the club. Whilst Will Smith has 31 million followers did any of them actually see the photo, if they did do they even know anything about the English football, let alone Rovers? The photos with Wenger and now, clearly staged, with Smith are all a bit cringe worthy when we still have to play at tent city.

Not saying they all will, but Will Smith is massive, so a lot of his fans will. Let's not promote the club then, as we have tents lol. Some fans just like to pick at everything. Wael having contacts all over the world can only be a good thing IMO. Not causing any harm.

Ozil was actually the one that tagged Wael in a photo. Great to meet up with my friend and good luck with your club, or along those lines. Fans are quick to say they have no contracts etc. But Wael probally has more than what most owners would.

I doubt Will Smith’s people will be sending it out as an officially approved Will Smith photo either, it will remain on the instagram page of a sad old man who is living out some kind of boyhood fantasy of owning a football club. It’s such a bad look it’s not even funny and if any classy, credible sponsors see it they will be immediately turned off because it’s very unprofessional for the figurehead of a credible business to have such a small time mentality.

In that case you have to ask what value those contacts actually are because DS has still achieved very little off the pitch. Unfortunately you can’t build stadiums out of photo opportunities and messages of good will from top level athletes and movie stars. I’d rather have someone who got stuff done and eschewed all this nonsense. Well, actually, I would still think it’s crass but would have far less of an issue with it if he actually got something built. We live in an era where our players clear fox sh** off a temporary training pitch while our president mugs off on Instagram using club memorabilia. It’s all just a mess.

You don't know what's going on behind the scenes, I don't, but atleast I don't pretend I do. That ozil tweet went out to over 24 million followers. Obviously that is a bad thing. You never know who might see photos like that. Football fans abroad or in the UK. Not saying it's a massive thing. People might just brush past it. But it's not a bad thing, like loads are making out. Personally I think that were working on a stadium. Think they will happily hand that over to a potential new buyer though. Think Wael would like to be involved still if possible. I have heard about potential sites etc, bit you don't post on here as it's only rumours and I would betray other people's trust anyway. You only ever see the bad rumours on here, from the ones who can't keep thier mouths shut lol. Fact is, it could still go either way. We could be in trouble, but anything could happen. His e was slated for years, then we found out he was working in secret for years!

I said *sponsor*, an investor is a different kettle of fish- if they can smell money to be made then Wael's antics aren't going to stop them although any serious investor will probably want Wael removed because of things like this.. A sponsor on the other hand has their own brand to consider and if they are selling something professional themselves they probably don't want a clown who can't take his own brand seriously to be associated with them, I know I wouldn't. The classic example is BMW who, allegedly, want nothing to do with Rovers even though it would (from our point of view at least) be a brilliant tie-in. Even if we had a somewhat decent stadium as soon as BMW see nonsense like this from our president they would be reaching for the eject button. But then I've probably got ahead of myself by talking about professional companies sponsoring Rovers - why the hell would they look at us in the first place?!

A sponsor wants as much publicity as possible. If they thought thier name could be seen all over social media, they would be more like to sponsor us. We signed loads of new partners last season and doubled are sponsorship deals. They were obviously put off by a world cup winner tweeting about our owner and including a link to the clubs official Twitter page. Can see why they wouldn't want that kind of publicity lol. Not everyone's as depressed and boring as some on here by the looks of things.

From OTIB. Did chuckle a bit Now this is the story all about how My life got flipped, turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute just sit or kneel I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Horfield In west Jordan town born and raised In the watch shop where I spent most of my days Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool And all watching Tom Nicholls hitting row Q When a couple of guys, they were up to no good Started making trouble in da fional turd I got in one little fight with a horse and my mom got scared And said "You're moving with Nick Higgs and the Tramp in Horfield” I whistled for a dog and when it came near The Collar said "Darrell” and it **ssed Fanta clear I bought a TV and thought it would fit on a tent spine But I thought nah, forget it, these things take time I pulled up to a slum about seven and a bit And I yelled to the cabby "Yo, homes This ain’t Stamford Bridge” Looked at my kingdom I was finally sealed To sit on my throne as the prince of Horfield Edited 4 hours ago by Silvio Dante started off with promise then went to sh** Just like the 82ers season .... press repeat !

I think you're reading far too much into it. Wael had a chance to have his photo taken next to Will Smith and posted it. I would, you would, we all would. That's all it is.

I bloody hate treating 'celebrities' like they're something special. They're not, but they think they are because of cringeworthy antics like Wael's. It makes us look small and a bit pathetic, which we probably are, but there's no need to broadcast it.

Wtf is Waq up to? I can imagine Will Smith was really embarrassed being presented with a shirt, from someone he has probably only just bumped into the foyer of a hotel, joke.
