Imo -12 points is a joke. Failure to pay player wages, failure to complete agreed transfers and failure to even play a league match! For me, they should’ve been kicked out of the league all together. Not fair on the fans I know but the FA can’t keep allowing these ridiculously unqualified owners to control clubs and just like Bury, I believe there should be much bigger punishments for spending beyond your means or the means of your owners. I’m not sure I agree with kicking them out. As a supporter I’m not sure how’d feel about losing my club through not fault of my own but a crazy owner. The FA and EFL have to take a really good long hard look at themselves and ask them if they’ve done enough about protecting clubs and the process for changing ownership so not every man and his dog can take over. To be honest, I don't have much sympathy for them. Basically they cheated their way out of our division 2 years ago and they cheated survival in the Championship a year later. Those fans enjoyed the ride on the way up, so I think they shouldn't really complain when they are sent back down again. For the record, I do think that Rovers shouldn't be loss making. If that means we have to get rid of ancillary staff members and let our high earners go on a free, then so be it. We just cannot continue to make annual losses and expect the owners to pick up the tab. Football is a business and should be run by one. If a fan takeover occurs then that has to be run as a business too.

It'll be interesting to see the outcome of Bury's court case tomorrow. Another club in deep financial trouble.
Playing staff not getting paid despite being promised that they will with the owner claiming that the club is up for sale but no sale in the pipeline.
If Bolton get docked 12 points, they'd probably finish above us but if Bury get docked 12 points, I don't think they'd stay up and they face the threat of being wound up tomorrow.

It begs the question if they've basically cheated to get promoted should they be allowed to go up, it's not like they've suddenly lost a big benefactor or sponsor. if they start off 12 pts behind they might as well stay in Div 2 anyway! I still don't understand how Rochdale, Bury & Accy survive in Div 1 with such low crowds plus they must all be fighting, along with Oldham and now Salford for the same group of players.

It's a massive credit to Bury's players that they carried on playing and won promotion for the club even though they weren't getting paid. Perhaps they saw that the additional prize money and gate receipts from being in league one would mean more of a chance of the club paying the wage bill on time. Rochdale, Bury and Accrington are all able to survive because they have been well run in the past and are able to make the best use of the resources available to them to build a decent L1 team. Bury abandoned this method and started throwing money around and it subsequently got them relegation and financial trouble.
