I was thinking more along the lines of those who cover their faces up whenever they go out in public, maybe due to their cultural beliefs? Also, what if someone decides to grow a full-beard. How will they stand legally? Also, Chinese tourists had better stop walking around with those white face-masks on. Ole Bill will be lifting them from the streets pretty sharpish wouldn't they?

I know you were, and I was joking. My son lives in Hong Kong and the extent to which the police utilise this technology (mostly on the mainland) as a tool of social suppression is frightening. Imagine our politicians having control of this.

I expect there will be PC motivated exemptions. I appreciate that this is the wrong thread but I did see a tweet on the Danny Baker issue that your post reminded me of. Someone had written on the chimp pic and associated noise that 'Its PG gone mad' which I felt was quite amusing.

Anyone seen a video of the full interaction between this male and police officers from start to finish?

Anyone seen a video of the full interaction between this male and police officers from start to finish? I doubt such a video exists! He was obviously stopped, and it seems it was at some point someone decided to record it.

Anyone seen a video of the full interaction between this male and police officers from start to finish? Yes, it was on Click on BBC Breakfast on Sunday morning. If you go on the IPlayer you will probably be able to see it.

This is my point though, there is no footage of him being stopped, what the officers say to him, what he says to the officers in order to be given a penalty notice for disorder. People (not necessarily posters on here) draw conclusions from a standard edited piece of BBC anti police propaganda. Extraordinary moment my arse.

Theres no evidence to suggest it is anti police propaganda as far as I can see.

People draw conclusions from a standard edited piece of BBC anti police propaganda and some other people draw conclusions from drawing conclusions about it. Theres no evidence to suggest it is anti police propaganda as far as I can see. Not necessarily aimed at you (more the 3.7k people who have commented on the Daily Mail article), I'll be fighting a losing battle here (hence my last post on it), because in this internet age everyone loves drawing conclusions from watching a clip online without knowing, or shall I say wanting to know, the full facts - and you can't dispute that - you can say I'm drawing conclusions about people drawing conclusions etc but anyone who has not watched a video showing the full interaction, or actually present at the time, does not know the full facts. That is my point. So when these people are asked "Have you seen the whole video?" something doesn't quite compute. It's like there cant possibly be more to the video than what they've watched. Surely that's it, thats what I'm watching online. And it fits an agenda. Its f**king naive. It irks me. Enough to bore myself writing this post.
And, in my experience, the BBC love doing this with police videos portraying them in a bad light wherever possible.
Now if the article title was: "Big Brother Britain: Extraordinary moment police FINE pedestrian £90 for disorderly behaviour after he tries to cover his face from facial recognition camera on the streets of London and tells a police officer to f**k Off" it doesn't sound quite so extraordinary. And of course that bit's missing from the wonderful informative BBC episode (if it was recorded)
Still, the beeb will be happy with this, nice DM article from it likely to stir up hatred towards the Police. Job done.

But your bit in BOLD. Doesn't that fill you with horror? A pedestrian, fined 90 quid for the crime of walking down the road.

I guess I’m being wooshed here or something! You are not being 'whooshed'. People can watch the video. Listen to the other woman asking the Policeman why the guy was stopped. We can hear his reply. We can see a minimum of four Police taking the guys picture. In his place I would also tell the Police to 'f**k off'. It's disgraceful.
