Would people prefer Nicky Maynard or Kieran Agard ? Or be underwhelmed by either ? I still think Sheff Utd discussions are ongoing ... Watch this space! ( Probably nothing will happen though as cost involved) What's the connection with Agard, just that he also used to play for City, or are we linked with him? He was a very good player at L1 level with City and believe he was in the same title winning squad as Mark Little? He then flopped in the Championship and underperformed in a crap MK Dons team that got relegated, but he did well last season so may have his mojo back. Either way I'd be surprised if MK Dons let him go to us. Maynard also scored plenty last season but agreed I wouldn't be that thrilled to have him here. His best days are way behind him.

I wouldn't want either to be honest. I know things worked out ok with Jermaine Easter but i would sooner we invest some time in a young up and coming from lower down.

I mentioned on another thread that I heard we are interested in signing Agard. That actually came to me from a ted of all people.
I would prefer his strike partner Chuks Aneke though.
The Agard rumour may have legs as MK Dons have just signed Bowery from Crewe so someone might be heading out.
Alex Gilbey is another really good player they have that we should have signed from Wigan.

Loved DC but always wondered why he couldn't take the GC approach and do the business early. We always seemed to get last minute uninspired deals and excuses as why his 1st choice targets wouldnt come. I get that you aren’t ever going to get everyone you want through the door as every team suffers these setbacks but GC has never been a manager before and here he is pulling aces out the hat. People slag the club and board off and hold onto what DC said re reduced budgets - but GC has started clearing the decks of deadwood very quickly and made some great signings and I have every belief we will still see another keeper, midfielder, winger and forward before the end of July. Yes I’m very excited.

Yes I’m very excited. I’ve little idea of the internal workings at BRFC but your comparison between how DC and GC have done business is interesting. I completely agree with what you’ve said. I wonder if the difference is now with a head of recruitment there is a more planned, organised approach to each transfer window. Listening to TW just now explain how it works was interesting and there’s obviously more to it than most of us either appreciate or know. DC, I suspect had to do a lot of it himself in the Conference and League 2 and it was mentioned at the time how relatively poor recruitment was. Poor DC only had so much time and needed TW when he came in last Feb. But also GC has a more focussed approach to it imo. He knows what he needs and TW said GC told him when he was appointed so it sounded as if TW was working towards a brief that he had been given. TW has had 3 windows and they get better each time. GC has also released players who may have been high earners and others who we loved but were not going to improve us now and been very clear in that players coming in will play. We’ve replaced, so far, quantity with apparent quality. The acid test of course will only come when they play and the season starts. But it’s certainly a more positive feel and atmosphere to this summer than there was last summer. UTG!

Yep - and Claude Greengas !! either way a better option than Nicky Maynard. Let’s hope it’s not Selwyn Froggat! Magic!

Didn't Maynard leave Trashton, because he didn't want his children speaking Bristolian. Gert like?

Not just because of that, but ive heard that quoted on OTIB.
He moved to Cardiff 7 months after leaving City so seems like he changed his mind about bad accents.

Is that his little man syndrome coming out where he has to have a little man badge on his jacket to feel bigger?
