Kilgour struggled today at Kidderminster. I wasn’t there, but seems like a lot of the team struggled with it? What was his issue? Seems very out of character considering his performance at Maidenhead. Fitness? A tour to Ireland then, for some strange reason, a double trainiing session on their return on Friday probably took its toll on the younger players, as Smith was also said to have struggled by GC..

They had an older player up front who was their leading scorer last season.Name of Chambers.Very strong and skillful.Alfie's heading was good but he struggled to contain him on the deck and two miss-kicks and positioning suggested he isn't in Lockyer's class-yet.Chambers scored an excellent goal too. On a more positive note Deon Moore looked quality and Craig/Rodman and above all Sercs did very well.

If Scales is talking to Fleetwood and see their training facilities he will choose them over us if the terms are similar! They have a newish facility which is apparently a big draw for players. I will be surprised if he joins us now.

Which, as you & I have discussed many times, is why it's all very well saying we ought to sign so-&-so, or strengthen such and such positions, but we ain't a player's dream club. And it isn't just money.

But if he will only be playing on the training pitch I suppose that might be a big pull over playing at Cribbs or Yate. The pull to sign for Rovers yep the pasty voted best in the football league proper Cornish pasty and only £3.50. There is a certain manager (ex central defender) who comes from his neck of the woods who alongside an aged (to retire at the end of season so could take his place?) "1st" choice central defender ho could teach him a thing or two. OK training ground wins the argument I suppose! His loss not ours if that's his mentality

Would you enjoy working in a dump? Also, Fleetwood is in Lancashire which has, what, 4 very big clubs & several sizeable ones. It's a hotbed of football. You'd get noticed quickly if you were any good. Based in Bristol, rather less so.

Lovely training facilities, but yer playing in front of 2.5 k, or 8-9 k with Rovers. They’re not nailed on to do better than us. Know what I’d choose, if I had ambition.

Don't think you quite understood me. If you got ambition you don't plan to be there long. You want bigger clubs to notice you. If there's a lot of them on your doorstep there's a better chance of that. Less so if stuck in the wilds & scouts have a 180-200 mile round trip to watch you.

The way GC talked about AJ and his transfer business leads to me think this one is dead.

A trialist played for Fleetwood in Portugal at Centre half earlier, I think the deal is probably dead on our part.

As for being in “The wilds”! It’s Bristol not Aberdeen!

If Barton is the person on bail is he allowed to leave the country ?

Well if he doesn't want to come here, that's a shame. He is a centre half playing for a team that is bottom of the Irish league so maybe he isn't our saviour in waiting anyway. Cogs does need to find a big strong experienced central defender imho, we cannot rely on Craig to manage a bunch of youngsters in defence up against League one forwards.

Bristol vs Fylde Coast?!!! We may have shoit training facilities, but our Hometown is VERY appealing.
Then again, its probably down to money!

I was thinking more of Alfie and Rollin, but I take your point bb. I hope Davies is what we all hope as, despite his age, I believe he hasn't played a lot of games?
