Personally I liked AJ I thought he was quicker and stronger than Tom, but if we are going to sign him and if DM stays then we will have six strikers (JCH, GR, TN, DM, AJ and TS) who will want games so surely a couple of strikers must leave (we operated with only four at any one time last season)

If DM isn't going to stay I'd sooner we brought in another 6' plus CF than AJ, given that we miss JCH's height when he doesn't play and even when fit we catch expect him to play every minute of every game this season.

Can see us really struggling with the goalscoring options and creativity we have in the squad.

Personally I’m disappointed we are going after Jak and that we have signed an unknown striker on loan for the season. That said GC has no money available to him it would seem or he is holding it back for someone. Not expecting much this week 15/07 ... possibly some loose ends might be tidied up and we should know by end of the week if Liam Scales is coming in but it’s one out first if indeed it happens.

After a positive start to the window, it has to be said, the last few weeks have been incredibly underwhelming and as things stand I don't think we are any better off than the team which finished last season.
We still need at least two creative players and a marquee striker to be competitive this season IMO.

It seems our policy when looking for strikers is how many goals they don’t have against their name at league one level. In some ways we will have an embarrassment of riches to start the season with 5 strikers, when you realise 4 of those 5 are Jakubiak, Reilly, Nichols, and Smith the veneer seems to rub off somewhat. We will struggle for goals again next season imo. Unless JCH keeps up his (our of character) scoring ratio (and if he does he will be sold in January) then we are screwed. Just my opinion though.

At the moment we’re very reliant on Nichols, Reilly, Sercombe & Bennett having a better season in order for us to improve in attack, as the signing of Smith alone isn’t going to have a significant impact IMO. If we go into this season having only added a youngster on loan to our impotent attack from last season, then we’ll get what we deserve come May. However, there’s still time to get those additions we need!

Peterborough United have today confirmed that fan favourite George Boyd has completed a return to the club, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the club.

The loanee was anonymous Sat but Deon Moore looked class and Nichols looked sharp.Didn't realise Reilly came on to be honest but Bennett was buzzing which could be a real bonus but Craig,Rodman and above all Sercs were impressive.

Agree that OC can get a few goals too, but that depends on how far forward GC allows our central midfielders to go.

IF (and it is an absolutely Dam huge IF!!!) the likes of Nichols, Sircs and Rodman can find consistent form this coming season then we will be absolutely fine. In fact, we would probably be near the playoff spots. But to go into a new season with that being plan A is absolute lunacy!

Late to the party with this one but we're in real trouble if our only ambition is to sign Alex Jakubiak. That said GC was a bit coy in January regards signing strikers and we ended up initially disappointed to 'just' get JCH and now we're panicking over losing him so who knows.
