First of two strikers .... Quietly confident another deal is being worked on ... We have already got 5, if another comes in it will almost certainly mean two need to be loaned out

so we getting 5 strikers but only have 2 wingers? (Providing Bennett stays) Hare and the Walsall bloke who's name evades me have both played wing. Add in Mensah/Rodman/Bennett and that's 5 players who can play on the wing. Maybe there's a youth player who's on the cusp of breaking into the first team as well. This is all providing that GC wants to play with wingers in the first place. With the fullbacks brought in, then it wouldn't shock me if we played a similar style to what Luton played down the mem against us this season. I think the signs are there then for the WB tactics. Defensively minded GC yes, but hopefully acknowledges that goals score games. I'm hoping playing wingers won't leave us to bare on the flanks against a counter... Could be our undoing.

Pleased with this one, young hungry player looking to prove something is exactly what we need.
Managed double figures at only 19 years old in the Vanarama National already so plenty of ability if we can just get that out of him.
Welcome Tyler.

He's already had a taste of L1 with top 6 Donnie last year. Quality Loan signings can make the difference. Last season Charlton loaned Bielik from Arsenal and Cullen from west Ham for the whole season and that quality helped get them promoted. I wouldn't be adverse to another Prem loan coming in for the season either at Left midfield or up front.

Young hungry player joins and I for one am pleased GC seems to be putting his own stamp on the squad and building nicely. I’m probably in a minority but I hope Nichols stays and proves himself this season. If we can get the best out of him, Bennett, Sercs and Rodman we might only need one more creative soul through the door I know every fan of every team in every division is probably feeling the same optimism before a ball is kicked but I do feel we will be a strong enough force in LG 1 Starting off well would be great, and the squad is being put together early. Good signs in my book UTG Someone said that last season

I think we may see a permanent marquee striker signing yet With Payne leaving I hope we will too. He arrived with a good reputation having hit double figures for a promotion chasing team I imagine he was probably one of our top earners. We’ve brought in players in other positions but I hope that Payne’s wage is still available and it will be spent on a striker who is going to give it everything in every game ( not just his first game like Payne did) and someone who scores goals. Regarding Marquee signing I don’t care if he’s a big name or not , all of our best strikers in the last 30 years haven’t been marquee signings , unless I’m missing someone ? , maybe Lambert but he was only from Rochdale and played midfield for them even though he was highly rated. For example if Payne was on 4 grand a week then going out and getting a so called marquee signing for the same money might find us another Payne where as if we loaned out Nichols or Reilly to free up some wages we could perhaps bring in 2 forwards who have the potential to do the business like we did with Bruno Saunders snakey duke Roberts etc Obviously whether we can make that work depends totally on a combination of good scouting and a little bit of luck along the way. Edit : I forgot Barry hayles, and probably others.

I think another loanee would do them both good as it might help them settle having someone else in the dressing room who's on loan but also having something to prove.. "we're here to prove a point, and let's smash the goals in and show everyone what we've got". Although it's annoying having a good player not on a permanent player can be frustrating if they have a great season and then back to their parent club.. Not that I can remember anyone of recent who fits that bill so maybe not a bad thing rather than being lumbered for years *not mentioning any names*

It makes him a good signing when you consider he's prepared to join us after being with a top 6 side last season. Probably a better signing than Telford who cost Plymuff a rumoured £50K.

Tyler Smith might be the next big thing, but he isn’t ours and the odds are he will be more Telford or Jakubiak.

Blades fan here , im a Friend of the family and known Tyler since he was a kid of 3 or 4 , the lad can play , he is lightning quick , not the tallest at 5'8 or 5"9 but hard to knock off ball has good movement and can finish with both feet , more of a wide player cutting in than out and out striker but if he gets a run of games he will get a bag full if he plays 46 games he will get minimum 20 goals , I would have loved to see him play for us but the fact we have been doing pretty well last 2-3 seasons meant we couldn't gamble on youth
