I didn't go today but have often thought we play better without a big striker to kick aimless long balls at?
Has today confirmed a strike force that can work for us?

Well, I think we got nearly every present on our list, didn't we? Big, convincing win, one of the "other" strikers came in and got a hat-trick, Matty Taylor scored in open play and White got some game time. Plus a new debutant. Not a bad day.

I thought the atmosphere was really flat today. Perhaps it was the opposition, as gasheads seemed to treat the occasion like a pre-season friendly.
It was good to see Ellis get 90 mins today (plus the goals). He was really blowing come the final whistle.
Today was a great result but I've seem Rovers play better in games this season. The difference today was that we took our chances. The best of the bunch was the Mansell strike and the Monkhouse header.

Will be nice if Sinclair and Leadbitter are available next week. As Leadbitter's banned for another 2 games I doubt that's going to happen! |

After today's great victory the boys might feel entitled to go out and get bladdered and let off some steam. So I hope DC has told them to do no such thing and to pay attention to the real target - promotion. 10 pints, 20 Rothmans and some loose women will be great for a few hours but will not be ideal preparation for next week.
I hope they are sensible. I wouldn't be, but so far as as I know, I'm not playing, so I can go loopy.
I am available in a crisis. I am, however, 56 years old.

What a brilliant photo on the front page of the Indy this morning: Ellis Harrison, giving the thumbs up with one hand, match ball in the other, grinning happily. Here's to much more grinning from him. I'm sure if he gets the ball on the ground, he'll deliver.
