Exactly this, he's hardly dripping out of the Ritz with a "dont you know who I am?" mentality. When he's at games he tends to tuck himself away in his box with the people he invites. Even when he faced countless questions when he first took over about his/families personal wealth he didnt discuss it. He seems to be a fairly quiet and unassuming person if you ask me. His communication to us as "president" of BRFC has been minimal. He interacts on social media with fans too, look at his instagram, and for someone who has, or not to be controversial, his family, a high net worth, hes hardly showing off his lifestyle with private jets, boats and gold hanging off his wrists like has become the custom for anyone on social media who appears to be doing alright for themselves. And because of that HNW and his other interests, he may get to bump into a famous person or 2, and why shouldnt he get a photo with Will Smith or Geoff Hurst or whomever he gets to meet. The Will Smith thing got us some alright publicity in my view. Some fair points but even you can’t deny that he courted the media and cultivated a strong public image when he first arrived. He would go in the away end etc culminating in that cringeworthy carrying down Gloucester Road. It sort of says it all about how things have soured since that he would be lucky not to be chucked in the river if he tried a bit of crowd surfing these days. Then of course the collapse of the UWE happened and he has has kept a lower profile because his stock has never been as high with Gasheads since. Were we to somehow miraculously win the league this season I dare say he would come out of his box a bit more and be more visible in a physical sense. Going by previous form he loves being seen in public when things are going well and public opinion is in his favour. I guess the point I’m trying to make is that you don’t see other club’s presidents doing that. I wonder how many other fans even know what their club president looks like. I can see why his initial building of a public image was a good thing: “Cool, right-on Wael is one of the lads” etc. problem is it all feels a bit hollow if they don’t continue to front up when times are bad. To be honest I personally think the president should be heard but not seen. Tell it how it is and be straight. A lot of people seem to really dislike that lad in charge of Peterborough but I admire his forthright nature, he seems like he gets stuff done and is the captain of the ship. I would swap him for Wael in a heartbeat. Maybe if I was looking for a friend it would be the other way around but I don’t want a friend I want a competent president who is a steady hand at the tiller. The mess on this forum of various ITK cliques is strong evidence that Wael has lost control of his fiefdom. We all wanted to know more about him when the ALQs first took over. They couldn’t get enough of trying to find out how much he had and who he was. He goes to most home games and I believe he went to Blackpool? If he stayed in box 1 when we got promoted he would have been castigated for not mixing it with fans. Literally no win.

With respect you present it like that but I wonder how many other clubs fans care whether the chairman celebrates with them? As I said before the figurehead of the club is usually a faceless name on a board somewhere apart from the minority who like to appear in the press and make a name for themselves. We have one who seems to want everyone to at least know his name if not his face.

Where is the follow up article by The Post or the BBC, surely there is a bit more news by now? All seems to have gone very quiet.

Think that is the only thing we do know if the fruit market stadium goes ahead so does the takeover, no deal there no takeover. but....but....but...Wael was talking about 'we'. 'we are looking at the fruit market'. Where does 'we' fit in with a takeover? It ain't happening. Unless there's no takeover and the family are buying the site as part of a new consortium themselves. It's as likely as any of the other nonsense on here.

A bit of a contradiction going on there, you'd like the president to be heard not seen but you like the Posh owner who seems to court publicity more than any other EFL owner and looking at the Div 1 table at the moment then I bet there's just as many disgruntled Posh fans as there are Gasheads.

I’m speaking mainly of his candidness over Twitter, he also comes across as no-nonsense whereas Wael comes across as fairly weak and ineffectual. Would we be seeing the current nonsense of a fractured boardroom and it’s cliquey nonsense playing out on this forum if we had a strong leader? Doubtful.

I wonder if today’s opposition manager, Michael Mellon knows anything about these rumours?

NH was apparently a strong leader and that also ended in tears. Weal's most likely out of his depth, Hammer's gamekeeper turned poacher, and we've no real idea what side Starnes has taken in all this. Meanwhile the new investor behind a £100m+ project seems content to use the 'ciders & Knowall as his spokesmen. I guess it could only happen at Rovers!

Get the speaker working in the South West Stand please, or do I have to wait until the Fruit Market stadium is ready?

Beckham’s site in Miami now been found it’s more toxic than thought originally?! I am told the money is in place, the council are game to do a deal and the sale of the fruit market is happening. But a lot can happen as we know, I believe and I am told it will happen but until I see a digger on the site I will just step back and see what happens.
