Last time I said something re this subject I got shot down for breaking Wael's confidence.. So I do this aware some of you many not like me doing so! Was told earlier today by the same chap that this is right at the point of conclusion and WILL be wrapped up and announced within the next 2 - 4 weeks. Must confess, I am slightly wary of what I have been told of the consortium in talks to buy the club.. Seem to have 90% interest in the land at both the Fruit Market and the Memorial Stadium and 10% interest in the actual football club. Guess we just have to hope that the current proprietors have done their due diligence and we are not being sold down the river as it were. As I say, take it or leave it and feel free to shoot the messenger if you like, I can't say I care too much! Whilst I do think it is close, we keep hearing 2-4 weeks every 2-4 weeks!

If this does happen then I propose that all gasheads turn up to the market the Sunday after the announcement in their colours! Bring cans and let’s have a massive party!!! Great I've been wanting some company! Are you Tommy as in Tom Metaclfe (Sp) of gas chat fame (your sig was a hint!) ? If so, can I just say how much I enjoy your podcast! really is a brilliant listen and you boys seem to have made a huge jump in terms of quality this season and it certainly has not gone unnoticed. I have already turned half my family and all of my gas mates on to the pod and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work mate!! Ps - Is Harley's prolonging of the final symbol in any sentence he says as noticeable in real life? Because it is incredibly noticeable over my car stereoooooooooooooooooooooo .

And as per my av, I certainly won't personally be getting too excited until I am actually sat in the bloody thing! But I must say, this chap is normally spot on and that is what he told me this very morning. I wouldn't post it in here if I didn't think it was credible as I am very aware of all the ITK fly by nights who frequent this thread...

I think most of us just need putting out of our misery either way now to be honest. It’s the decent thing to do.

Concrete you say ? Have they started to build it yet, you must be in the know ? Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh :-)

I am indeed and thanks for your kind words! Always nice to know someone is listening and enjoying the pod. Yeah Harley talks exactly like that in real life. I think I've tuned it out over the years though

Whilst I do think it is close, we keep hearing 2-4 weeks every 2-4 weeks! It must be close either way.... Assuming it’s a positive it would be interesting to know what the stadium ownership structure will look like. Will we own the freehold of the stadium? Will it be leasehold (I suspect this will be the case) and if so what will the length and terms of any lease look like? These must be the key questions to ask as if it is correct and this is predominantly a land deal rather than a football deal the lease arrangement will be key to our future. If it’s a long lease on favourable terms / freehold it would be a real positive... if it’s a short lease, less than 99 years we could end up with another Coventry situation. I just hope the deal makers have done all they can to ensure the security of the club in the new Fruit Bowl arena given this is supposedly more of a land transaction than someone who wants the football club in isolation.
