Two communications in two days = unheard of... But if this is a sign of things to come then brilliant.
They stated another reason for being able to develop the Colony was tender prices had reduced.. could this be something similar with the stadium??
I just pray that we aren't underwhelmed with the result

It's so long since we've been whelmed, we wouldn't even know if it was under or over.

In all honesty we are all happy with training ground, not sure why he had to drag the stadium up again until he actually had something to announce.
It's the hope that kills you.

We'll be back at Crewe next season. They have a very modest stadium but one fab large stand which has been there a while now but looks great.Would certainly settle for that at the Mem.Crewe also have an amazing social complex which they use-pre Corona-to the maximum.Of -course their training complex is impressive.Tiny club but well run.Remember Marcus scoring there and the play off semi when Radio Stoke said,'Bristol fans are driving away on their way back to Eastville sounding their car horns. We had of -course long left Eastville. Ran my first 'LINE' there v Torquay when Tony Waddington had been appointed manager.

It’s been said that an outside consortium are behind the stadium project, and if thats true it makes no sence for Wael to put his own money into the training ground. My gut feeling is (pure speculation) that this ‘new consortium’ are buying the rest of the families shares, with Wael keeping his, or maybe a smaller stake in the club, but keeping his position. I just dont see why he would be putting his own money, as has been suggested, into a project if he is about to sell up

Perhaps our owners, who happen to be bankers, are taking advantage of the lowest ever interest rate in history and with the possibility of reductions in tender prices to build a new stadium + plenty of capacity in construction (companies could be fighting over the work) they see this as an opportunity to speculate to accumulate.
If so, in some respects they can't lose. Very little interest on any loan, cost of building at probably the lowest it has been for years, a stadium that even at modest increase in value will see a good return on their investment and puts the football club on a sound financial footing going forward making it a good future investment if they decide to sell up at some stage.
You never know, BRFC could be a rare beacon of positivity caused by the pandemic.
But then again this is Rovers and after 49 years of mainly hurt supporting them, until it happens I remain a doubting Thomas!

Well over 60 years for me but despite everything I can't help but get excited.A long time ago we played Huddersfield at Wembley in the play off final which I think would have taken us into the now Championship. My cousin in those pre internet days used to send me cassettes on which she'd recorded Radio Bristol footy stuff. One old boy was interviewed at Twerton before the play -off final and I'll never forger he said,'Don't keep talking about a new Ground ,Do it'!!!!!!! Funny how these things stick in your mind. Then we had all the excitement of UWE with a promised Webcam to follow the progress and before that we were told to go the Cheltenham to chose our seats for two seasons whilst the Mem was redeveloped.Couldn't help thinking at the pre season friendly at Kidderminster how on earth they had improved their stadium so much since my last visit and we had a new tent.

What to do when the season ticket numbers need increasing? - Make a subtle announcement of something maybe happening sometime in the future - a well-worn tactic.

What if it isn't?? Could be rebuild of the mem instead.. If that is the case, then investing his own money in the training ground does make perfect sense.

All these statements seem to coincide with Hani resigning from the board of Dwane Sports back in March. Looks like he was holding Wael back , or Wael is using his own wedge he got from his dads will.

You really are starting to come across as a sad bitter individual, at the moment you seem the only poster across both forums who can't see anything positive in the recent announcements.
