Thought the land was bigger than the Mem stadium footprint but not much bigger inc the car park? I still can't see what they are going to build to bring in so much money over and above football income. Tempted to bloody pin this post at this rate 😂 1. Cardiff City Stadium (33,280) - 91,296 m2 2. Liberty Stadium (21,088) - 58,713 m2 3. Deepdale, Preston (23,404) - 52,778 m2 4. Fruit Market Site (?) - 52,292 m2
5. DW Stadium, Wigan (25,138) - 50,382 m2 6. Molineux Stadium (31,700) - 42,793 m2 7. Amex Stadium (30,666) - 42,461 m2 8. Madejski Stadium (24,161) - 40,998 m2 9. Ashton Gate (27,000) - 35,195 m2 10. NY Stadium, Rotherham (12,021) - 31,828 m2 11. Mem Site (12,300 ) - 28,576 m2 The land is huge, there will be apartment blocks following the river I believe. I think someone also said they've bought a couple of plots surrounding the FM too. I'd guess/expect hotels, bowling/cinemas, shopping centre - etc? There's already a cinema and a bowling alley on St Phillips Marsh

I heard the terraced part of Avonmeads will shut down. A lot of shops have already closed and not long before the rest like Boots and the Range. It's not known what will happen to the cinema and the bowling place yet if that will stay or not. But the rest like McDonalds, M&S will be staying. They will be apparently opening a train station too behind the cinema. This could be a massive housing development but it is literally down the road from the FM. Would make an excellent parking facility for a stadium

Madness. I remember when all this was being built about 25 years ago when I was a kid. Was so flashy and modern. Now its aged massively and it’s all turning into a ghost town.
Suits us all now though eh?

So all we need to do is go over to Pyongyang, saw the stadium in half, and transport it back to Bristol? Winner! Will still hold 75,000, can always use the South Stand at the other end...

That’s likely to go for student housing, as it’s disconnected from the fruit market site and several student housing schemes are in the pipeline in Avon St. Now realised after checking Google maps that Avon St is about a mile from the FM and the other side of the Feeder, not sure there's any car dealers near the FM? I assume this does mean BCC have plans to re-develop the whole of St Phillips Marsh. All of St Phillips Marsh west of the spine road is due for redevelopment. It’s part of the enterprise zone based on Temple Meads.

That's not to scale. I did the same thing and it's about twice that big. Scale schmale. Pathetic. I heard we bought the river and we were daming that too

Just did some crude maths, but as you can see here the Rungrado 1st of May Stadium in Pyongyang clearly fits perfectly on the site giving us the potential to go up to a capacity of circa 150,000. Should do us in League One. View AttachmentWe could put extra seats on the running track for the big games

Conspiracy theory; Only a director of BRFC ltd and not Dwayne Sport or the Colony, nor even Fruit Market Stadium Ltd

Probably going to look a bit stupid or ignorant here but what is the relevance of this?

Probably going to look a bit stupid or ignorant here but what is the relevance of this? The relevance is he’s less than 2 years older than me by the looks of it, yet clearly more wealthy and successful, hence making me feel inadequate!

Asked about the relevance to this yesterday, I was just sharing that its now official. Nothing more, nothing less. Wasn't sure where to put it as didn't feel it needed it's own thread for it. Like Gorringe below is now official.

He’s one month older than me and hugely more successful and wealthy..... I too am now feeling inadequate....
