Friendships? Feck me it’s like World War III on here most of the time! 😁 I take it you don’t venture into general chat much then? By the way Marshy, I hope you mess up today in the prediction league. I hope that’s friendly enough for our manager! 😉 UTG! Ha ha, I did! But you didn’t do much better though. 😁

Coventry have apparently announced that they are planning on building another stadium, in partnership with the University of Warwick. The Ricoh Arena was only built in 2005. The new stadium will apparently be 20k with potential to rise to 35k. 2 new stadiums within the space of 15 years!!! www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/coventry-city-new-stadium-plans-18633361Coventry City have announced a deal that will see the University of Warwick provide land to the football club with a vision of building the club a new stadium. The Sky Blues spent the 2019-20 season in Birmingham, playing their home matches at St. Andrews after failing to strike a deal with Ricoh Arena owners Wasps Group. The club are currently in negotiations to return to the stadium for next season but do have an option to remain in Birmingham should they wish. But they have today confirmed an agreement with the University of Warwick that will see them acquire land, south of the City, and say that they will soon provide supporters with detailed plans for an environmentally-friendly stadium. Its development will allow the Sky Blues to finally own their own stadium and, in doing so, pocket full match day revenue from games. It is thought that the plan, that could take five years, will see a stadium with a capacity of around 20,000 built, potentially rising to 35,000 if required. It will also be supplied with a train station to help supporters travel in from the City centre, Nuneaton, Leamington Spa and other surrounding areas. The club's statement reads: "Both the University and the club are committed to a visionary, environmentally-friendly stadium in terms of materials, energy, noise, building and of course access. "We envision supporters arriving at the stadium through a new light rail station at the ground running alongside a new link road. "This will require significant discussion and partnership work with all surrounding local authorities, the West Midlands Combined Local Authority and the LEP to ensure the funding and support is there to provide that infrastructure. "The club and the University wanted to make people aware of this exciting new development as soon as possible and hope that in doing so, it will pave the way to many discussions needed with a range of partners to progress this project. "The club and the University do not expect to issue any further joint statements on this initiative until there is significant news that we can share," it adds. Coventry City have long made clear their desire to return to the City but only with a deal that benefits the Sky Blues. Speaking on plans to build a new stadium last year, chairman Tim Fisher said: "I can tell you that they are fully committed to a new stadium. “They have spent a lot of time in front of me describing what they are doing and the project they have got running and of, course, there are undertakings with the Football League because obviously they want to make sure there’s a new stadium in process." He added: “We are a community asset and this football club needs to be in the middle of its community and we’re not. “I can tell you we are trying our best. We want to play in Coventry. We do not want to play in Birmingham and, as I say, we remain hopeful.”

If* a stadium is built on the fruit market , what’s the guesses for the capacity of this stadium? I’ll go 24,000 😉 I'll guess 30000 due to wael really liking the set up at MK Don's plus it's bigger than the shitpit You mean hotels on 2 sides? I like your thinking!

If the FM (Fruit Market not Female Mutilation ) doesnt come off I suggest we buy up a non league team that as land surrounding it "enlarge" their stadium and have a pitch and a couple of small stands for them on the side. Keynsham Town?

Keynsham Town? I think we realised FM stood for fruit market, but thanks for the clarification. Jeez.

All gone very quiet hasn’t it. Yes, Tilly what's happening? Ha ha - I won't get any stadium news, I think the club have now got things sewn up, to keep the really important stuff within the higher echelons only - which is as it should be.
