If you were building a house possibly, but as I have often repeated, neither Rovers or City have ever had a single planning application rejected. Incidentally 90% of planning applications are approved and there are a million homes with planning permission that remain unbuilt. The idea that we are short of housing because of planning regulations, is a total red herring. Sorry, going off topic. Siston Common? Severnside? Siston Common wouldn't be Bristol CC anyway, Severnside hit the buffers due to chemical(?) explosion concerns so hardly the planners fault

"the ground should be ready to open in January 2023, subject to the necessary planning permission, funding and construction timetables."
That sounds like Wael's "preferred location" announcement wasn't the stadium at the FM supposed to only take a couple of years to build?
I can't see how they'll get pp and build it in just over 2 years, it'll probably take that long just to get pp.

Don't know what we're worried about. I heard it's the Downs, by the Water Tower.

Peterboroughs owners and the Council have already come to an agreement, so PP should be a doddle, by the sounds of it.

Can they really be behind the FM development as well as the £650m Nottingham project www.theislandquarter.com/ when it seems at present they are just developing small retail parks? That sounds like a massive expansion of their business will be required if they are going to manage both large scale projects?

That sounds like a massive expansion of their business will be required if they are going to manage both large scale projects? They don't have to do a lot to manage it, they'll identify pieces of land suitable for investment, award contracts and provide the capital to get a development project going on the site so they can reap the profits from it. Most of the work after that is left to the architects, tenants and contractors. See no reason why a company like Conygar couldn't be involved in the Island Quarter Nottingham project and the Fruit Market development at the same time. It looks like the former is nearing construction phase anyway.

Nothing formal was applied for to my knowledge. The two Mem plans (new stand and total redevelopment) were approved as was Sainsburys by BCC and UWE by South Glos. As I understand it, only one (genuine) plan has been rejected, that being Siston.

Just went past the FM on the way to Bath Rd, anybody that knows the area will know where I am (opposite the Thunderball pub that used to be the Turnpike) on the left there is a hard standing, this used to be a petrol station in the 80's. The reason I mention all this is because I recall reading in here something about test having to be carried out on the land due to subsidence and flooding, and that these tests would use a huge mother of a drill. Said drill can be found on the hardstanding on the Bath Road. so perhaps we might hear something soon??

This is something quite different! That is where Block one of (of Seven) flats are going. Interestingly the application was refused by BCC planning because it exceeds all the height guidelines for new blocks of flats in the city. However our elected representatives overruled it & it is being built. www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/decision-made-over-controversial-15-2997453
