so this is an announcement that states we could be included as part of the development? Or is it we are in and now we need to decide what we build?

Still early days of course but perhaps we should have a separate thread where certain posters can publicly record their apologies? There are quite a few people who pretend to be ITK and now have egg on there faces. With nothing set in concrete this is a massive step forward and if a deal is struck which I believe it will be then this could be a massive turning point for this club.

Positive that this can now be shared in a public format, rather than rumble on behind the scenes with everyone being left in the dark.
Very, very early days by the sounds of it, so I'm not trying to get my hopes up too much.
Have updated the thread title for those wondering.

With an announcement like this, I would be surprised if there aren't already stadium designs in the working.

I think the quote from the CEO of Conygar is pretty important. Talks are meaningful but not finalised.
“St. Philip’s Marsh and the Fruit Market site hold exciting possibilities that could help to transform this area into something positive for the city. We have been in discussion with Bristol Rovers for a significant time. These discussions between Conygar and the club are meaningful and ongoing and I look forward to continuing to work with Wael and the club to finalise a solution that works for all parties.”

I was down the fruit market earlier and saw them loading lots of apples and bananas into a van, must be moving out I guess.

With an announcement like this, I would be surprised if there aren't already stadium designs in the working. That’s what I think too. Wael is all too aware of our past failings with regard to stadium projects and we had the premature ‘landing lights’ comment from Hamer come back to haunt us. He will be very careful with statements so I think we are probably closer than what the official statement is telling us. It’s hard not to trot out the “I’ll believe it when I’m sat in it” line though. This is Bristol Rovers after all 😀

A few flats on the Totterdown side : St Philips Marsh abandoned in 1960s . Barton Hill ( left behind as always) . So from a legal : judicial viewpoint plan sailing. Also the inner city needs investment . It won't be my first choice ( even though I'm very local to the feddar ) . I wonder what will disrupt this project?.

I think a few above are getting a little ahead of themselves. This news is positive though as some very close to the action had said we were being left out of the scheme but that statement by Conygar indicates that things are ver much back on the burner.

After all the false dawns and dead end’s, if this ain’t it we’ll never have anything nice & new, nor leave the Mem in its current rotting state.
With this statement & the effort putting that vid together, you have to trust this might just be it.

I think it’s pretty apparent that Conygar have been looking around at what they can do to maximise the potential of the land and we fit in to just 1 of a few solid proposals. Would like to think it’s a positive sign that we’re still in the running now they’ve gone ahead with the purchase of the land but we’ll have to wait and see.

This is great news. It's plainly going to be a few years yet, but it's the most positive new stadium news we've had ever, surely? (Don't count UWE as Higgs was as reliable as a chocolate ashtray)
Bet this news goes down well on the "independent" forum.
