This seems significant.
A statement and a video. The club must be pretty confident we can finalise our agreement with Conygar.
The fact we've been in discussions for 2-3 years and both parties are still looking forward to working together, is certainly a positive sign.
You'd like to think a deal has been agreed in principle and just needs fine tuning now Conygar have completed the purchase of the land.

Conygar’s plans are said to include a large-scale housing and urban development containing hotels, restaurants and other leisure facilities. Should negotiations with Rovers prove successful, Bristol Live understands there is a provision for a stadium with an initial capacity in the region of 17,000-20,000 with options to expand

So nothing confirmed then? Just a statement and promo video confirming they’re in talks which we already knew? Will look stupid if it doesn’t happen

Worth noting that Conygar haven’t even agreed to buy the site, they’ve conditionally agreed to spend £450,000 on a 1 year contract that will result in them purchasing the land if they submit planning permission within the timeframe.
Here’s the Conygar announcement. We're not even mentioned.
“The Board of Conygar announces that Conygar Bristol Limited, a joint venture between Conygar and Urban and City Ltd (owned 80% by the Company and 20% by Urban and City Limited), has acquired an option for £450,000 from Wholesale Bristol Fruit Market Limited to acquire the land at St Philips Marsh where the market is currently located. The site comprises 14.7 acres and is located to the east of Bristol Temple Meads railway station. The consideration will be funded by Conygar from existing cash resources. The acquisition is at Conygar's discretion and is subject to the receipt of planning permission for a number of development options. The conditional contract expires on 31 March 2024 in the event that a planning application has not been made by Conygar Bristol Limited for the development of the site.”

This is something. I'm still annoyed about the Carsons Rd bid which was abandoned due to it being on green belt. Now look at the bloody place!

So that gives a year for pre application talks with BCC, who you have to assume (hope) will be making positive noises about supporting an application.

The acquistion remains at Conygar's discretion, so presumably they could go through the early stages of the planning process and choose not to do a deal. Although it would be an expensive waste of time all things considered.

I think it would take a major stumbling block for it not to happen now, all parties want it as part of a bigger plan.

The club statement and the tweet video is a strong indication that the club are feeling confident or totally jumped the gun - I hope this is it and we next hear when how and what 🤞💜

Hopefully the club posting so publicly about this means they believe this is a significant step towards something concrete being announced soon.
