As always with Rovers & anything stadium related it's the hope that kills you. Obviously a long way to go but IMO the club must have confidence in this going ahead otherwise why go to the trouble of the video - hopefully its further down the line than they are willing to admit I believe so. Although the statement makes it sound like there’s nothing finalised and we’re some distance from certainty, there’s no way they’d commit to that vid without it being somewhere near the finish line, surely ref? It’s basically saying we’re outta here!

The club statement and the tweet video is a strong indication that the club are feeling confident or totally jumped the gun - I hope this is it and we next hear when how and what 🤞💜 We've been waiting since August 2019 for another update, so that is not exactly jumping the gun. When do we start discussing the catering, whether seats will be padded, and how much season tickets will cost? 🤞

I expect the timing of this announcement has something to do with the expiry of the NDA or that there is a connection with it being the beginning of a new tax year, although I'm no accountant, so that could just be a coincidence. I suspect its the first reason, as the club have been under intense pressure from fans to give some update on progress, and this confirms that plans are still at an embryonic stage. UTG It seems to coincide with Conygar announcing that they have signed a deal that gives them an option to buy the site.

It's still not done and dusted yet still a long way to go PP etc etc I'm reserving judgement until it's approved and the first brick is laid But it's a step in the right direction if it comes to FRUITion

This is something. I'm still annoyed about the Carsons Rd bid which was abandoned due to it being on green belt. Now look at the bloody place! All the development there was always going to happen. Remember seeing a copy of the documents from the public meeting. Those against Carson Road. Light pollution from floodlights - they were going to be in the roof. Wildlife trust regarding loss of badgers although at the time there were no sets..... but some might move in. A few green belt residents. Loss of land due to access road. The road was always going to happen for later developments. Really think some people were hoping if the ground went ahead then the club would get the blame for the road

Bristol’s oldest club right in the heart of the City, where it should be. The oldest football club have been in Almondsbury for several seasons. Formed 22-years before City and 11-years before Rovers, Bristol St George are the oldest club in Bristol, but all of their existence has been spent in the non-league. Their home at Gloucestershire Fa headquarters is a wonderful facility

Really exciting news and gives us something to continue dreaming of.
Well done Wael and good luck in what must be a lot of hard work both mentally and physically, and thank you for continuing the challenge.

Best case scenario
2023/24 - 4K S/SW stand increases cap to 12500 Great season. Win promotion at Wembley against Portsmouth, the day after planning for the 20K FM Arena is given 2024/25-2027/28 - Consolidate in Champ as build progresses 2028/29 - Win the league on the last game of the season 2029/30 - first ever top flight season in the new stadium
Worst case 2029 - Gas chat still discussing whether the board were having us on about a new South Stand, as the FM thread enters its 10,000th page....

Too expensive to complete we are not Everton and made of money. Prefer to stay at the Mem easier to park and pubs around area. Needs a wake up pill. Travel is easy. Busses. Train parking plenty within half a mile walk. Pubs are close. Black Castle. Knights Templar. Plus whatever they have in the ground.

I’m sure it’s in Rovers best interest to stay at the Mem so fans can drink at pubs away from the ground!

Bit of an anti climax. I was hoping they would say the deal is off.

Plus whatever they have in the ground. logistically the easiest place to get to from all corners of the UK. Yes there is not a mass of car parking but will there be any around the mem in a few years time.

Yes there is not a mass of car parking but will there be any around the mem in a few years time. I imagine there will be some kind of park and ride scheme, I know the club are keen on getting fans bused to our ground, there was talk of one for the Mem but not enough support from fans. The club did do a survey of fans on whether they would travel to the Mem on a bus if more were provided, TG is keen on this sort of thing and I'm sure it will be looked at again for the new stadium.
