The article says we are after a bigger capacity than the 17-20,000 mooted for the FM and in talks with YTL.
Wonder how genuine that is?

water up and brewery comes to mind!!! Personally a move to the FM would have been a nightmare for me, but the club needs extra revenue streams.

I seldom post on these 'new stadium' threads, and this is why. Just pie in the sky stuff which drags along and ultimately ends in disappointment/failure

For those of you who don't support Bristol Rovers, no doubt it is funny.

To be honest with 3400 in the new stand, the potential for at least 5000 in a redeveloped Thatchers end and 1800 in the West / East stands that gives us 10000 seats and approx 3000 standing left on the sides - good enough unless we hit the championship at which point rebuild the East.
Stadium been a distraction for years ..... would rather see progress on the pitch.
Just found figures below - if they are to believed maybe 14k achievable with 10k seats
Area Capacity
Uplands Terrace 2,327
Family Terrace 721
DAS Terrace 1,100
Away Terrace 933 Total remaining standing = 4120 ( although perhaps away capacity reduced )
Uplands Stand 1,160
DAS Stand 710
Existing seats = 1870
New Clubhouse stand = 5000 New South Stand = 3400
That would give us 10270 seats and 4120 standing - decent enough ...... add in new toilets etc .....

If we can't agree terms, then it's best to move on. We might have put this out there, hoping they would agree to more favourable terms.
As long as we do up the mem in the meantime and don't do nothing, then it's not a big deal.
We need our own project. When you are leasing both parties want to make a profit. It's hard enough for one party to make a profit off a football stadium!

Not every deal is best for both parties, never been in favour of Fruit market wrong location for me.
