Its clear to me that our new owners are here just to asset strip the club and have no interest in developing the club because you can find nothing good about them on the internet............. thats the only conclusion i can come to by your statements Wes and i fear for our club Asset strip, don't make me laugh. What tangible assets are there to strip, a few tents in storage or a couple of rusty run down stands! Let's just wait and see what the future holds before talking about the long term future of the club - UTG

Pirate I'm not sure what programme article you are looking at but it says he is director of Kazma sporting club and also lists all the business the real estate company has completed. Sorry I don't know how to upload the article. Mr Asaad Al-Benwan is Chairman of Kasma SC and Mr Salem Al-Abkal, Mr Meshal Al-Hamad (Meshal Al-Hassan), Mr Yousef Bu Skandar, Mr Omar Al-Mulla, Mr Abdulmohsen Al-Bahar, Mr Bader Al-Kharafi and Mr Waleed Al-Yaqout are directors of the club, but once again our mystery takeaway fella is hard to find in relation to any directorship role. I thought maybe he could be found on the list for the clubs Governing Council or Club Committee, but again isn't amongst the names. Kasma SC Directors - kazmasc.com/%d9%85%d8%ac%d9%84%d8%b3-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%a5%d8%af%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%a9-2/I know it was written Al Elmam "developed various projects, including multi-story group housing, residential townships, shopping malls, office buildings, hotels and restaurants", but that is what is basically written word for word on their elmamrealestate.com/index.html website too, but I'm still left without anything of substance to confirm. I just want to marvel at their expertise and see what these "projects that would have cost multi millions" (according to daniel300380) look like and what we can expect from them moving forward. So far what we have seen doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. The photos alone are impressive. How much do you think an 18 floor hotel costs to build?? Why do you think he bought the club??? Bad owners in the past, wanted the limelight, a bit of fame etc. Since taking over he had stayed quiet out of the limelight. You are coming up with all these conspiracy theories, that make little sense. Why has he bought the club and how did he come up with the money, if he's not successful??

Pirate and others - perfectly reasonable to have questions and concerns about new owners. I've also tried digging into them and it's impossible to find anything definitive. That said, I'm in agreement that is because of their culture and also the fact they are a company that most likely doesn't rely on advertising and rather works through their contacts and reputation within that industry.
I can provide some further detail on the developments. Their website was last updated in 2012 and if you look at one of their projects it is clearly a Best Western Hotel. The project states 18 floor exclusive hotel in Mahboula, Kuwait. Look at the artists impression and you can make out the Best Western Hotel sign. Then look on Google maps and there is a Best Western Hotel in Mahboula that is 18 stories high and opened in 2012 and matches the artists impression.
Have alook online, it's an impressive building.
So, clearly they were building for a very large hotel chain back in 2012 and you would imagine those contracts have gone from strength to strength over the last decade.
We shouldn't assume a lack of website indicates they aren't doing anything, I fully believe its because they have the suitable contacts and contracts over several decades that means a website is largely meaningless for them.

Just to add, it seems Al-Saeed retains ownership of the Best Western Hotel as he is listed on the Kuwait Owners Hotel Association (KOHA) so clearly holds the lease ownership and associated income. The Foodco stuff is also a series of restaurant chains that he owns the franchise rights for. Throw in the residential developments, investment projects, real estate amd tourist resorts that the KOHA website states he has developed through Al-Elmam (over newrly 30yrs) and I would imagine he's worth a few quid, despite not being plastered all over the Internet.

Perhaps they will build an 18 storey hotel on the site of the Mem? Lucrative on non-match days and then every other Saturday Rovers will be playing there … on floors 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Many of them do though. It's the ones on the various rich lists and the owners of the super yachts. You gotta wonder, if he's that wealthy then whys he dicking around with our mob? A 24 month exit if we get to the champ in a revamped mem won't be worth that much? We might be worse off in terms of debt.

Goes back to the original point; they aren't reliant on some old website from 2012 and likely all bysiness conducted through established contacts and they keep things largely private, which is very common in the Middle East. It's simply an example of something they have built and it sounds like they have built lots over their 30yrs but we aren't going to find all of that online as mentioned. Boils down to the simple fact no one knows their actual wealth and we just have to hope they are genuine and well intentioned.
