BBC radio Bristol sport have just tweeted after an interview with Martyn Starnes confirming a stadium plan is being actively worked on and if all goes well there will be an announcement in the coming weeks. What's going on with our club!! #utg Seems quite surreal the positive news coming out of the club at the moment!!! Is this really Bristol Rovers? As always though, will believe it when I’m sat in it! (Or stood in front of my seat) Well this is certainly for the year for bizarre things to happen!

Fingers crossed something is finally happening.

I thought our manager leaving us for a bottom half league 2 side days after beating Ipswich away to go 3rd in league 1 was the most Rovers thing to ever happen in my lifetime.
But only months later they’ve managed to trump it by starting construction on a permanent training ground and will be announcing news on a new stadium, all during a global pandemic and the Financial Meltdown of the EFL.
A club like no other! 💙

Dafuq?!
Not counting my chickens just yet, or even until anything is actually built, but it's great that we're starting to see some real positive movements forward infrastructure-wise.
Really pleasantly surprised at the communication over the last few weeks, and contrary to my usual opinion of it being water-poor, I have to say credit where it's due. Well done the club.

I must admit the line "If all goes well" does reign in my optimism a bit though. We've heard that a few times from the owners before, only to hear nothing for the next six months. Hopefully this time it is different.
With spades in the ground at the Colony finally, who knows?

Hopefully this time it is different. I suppose that comes under cautiously optimistic. We are at least seeing work being done on the training ground, stadium is obviously more complex, but give you hope the intent and plans are really there

I'm going reverse psychology on this one....
I never wanted a new stadium, a new stadium is impossible, we can't afford it anyway....

Considering MS previously said he has nothing to do with the project, and now he’s giving us timelines - i’d say that’s a huge step forward.
I’m curious to know if this is part of the potential FM or we’ve found a site ourselves. After all, it could be a negotiating position to the FM deal of “hurry up, or we move on without you”

Hang on, last August wasn't it said on the radio there were three projects of which the Fruit Market was the most advanced.
Only one now? Sack the board!!!
(Joke)
He didn't need to be that positive especially with the training ground announcement, whilst there is always the 'if all goes well' caveat I doubt he would have said anything except more stonewalling if he wasn't privately confident.
Still plenty of hoops to jump through yet, but a good start.

He didn't need to be that positive especially with the training ground announcement, ... Yeah, they bought at least six months of no announcements with that.

Optimistic about this! Starnes normally avoids commenting on these matters like the plague so sounds good to me.

'Martin! We need some season ticket sales, get out there and mention the stadium!' We'll also get another 300 pages on Gaschat😊'
Seriously I still believe, but I have still got the required humour to be a Gashead'

They must have learnt from the negative feedback from us fans that there is no credibility to be gained by stringing us along by false optimisum. Surely the Yellow Brick Road is about to open!!!
