For f%"k sake it's about time we put this Taylor hatred to bed the bloke scored many crucial goals for us, has a family to support and how many people would turn down the chance to triple their wages, the days of loyalty in football have long gone, i was not any happier than any other Gashead about the way it all happened but our board/management perhaps should have been a bit more astute in the contract negotiations surely? I am fed up of all this childish abuse, The best way to look at it is he has been a failure at Trashton and more or less been in the football wilderness for last year or two and may never get back to being what he was. nah

Surprised he was only on 4K a week here, fairly confident it was more than that - especially as Bennett is rumoured to be on the same..
Wasn’t he our highest ever paid player? Or was it just highest at the time?
I thought Lambert was on 5/6k at the end..
Happy to be corrected by those who know

Bennett on more than Lambert 😂 I guess with inflation it probably works out that Lambert was effectively earning more...

I bet he doesn't sign for Oxford until after we have played them...it will certainly be a tasty atmosphere if he is an oxford player before next Saturday.

Best post I`ve read about the whole sorry saga. What he did was very badly thought out ( for his own safety, if for nothing else ) but then, he`s a rather dim witted footballer, not Erasmus. Some of the spite and malice written on here, is worthy of a two year old toddler who has had his favourite toy taken away.
If he comes back here, I won`t boo him and I won`t applaud him. I`ll just keep my fingers crossed that he doesn`t score against us.

He might wait until the end of the window again to rinse out every last penny he can. The longer this goes on, the more likely than he has more than one serious suitor. Wouldn't put it past him to do the dirty on his boyhood club again. The slimy snake.

Stefan Payne tomorrow at the Mem getting a tasty reception, followed by Taylor on Saturday at the Mem getting a tasty reception.
This kind of atmosphere in both games could actually give us the advantage because how many times have the players spoke out about us fans being brilliant.
Knowing our luck, Payne and Taylor would both score hat tricks past us

Can see Oxford at least getting in the playoffs if they sign him.

Payne and Taylor in the same week? Call me a cynic but I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

Not sure they would play Taylor in a very toxic atmosphere, especially if he starts on the bench.... (sat in front of a very rowdy East Stand/terrace)

It's just what we need, imo, to galvanise the crowd, give the moaners in the crowd a decent distraction, and bring some atmosphere.
